EAC - Easter Wishes

Good morning crafters.
It's our first craft challenge for April over at Everybody Art Challenge and what better way to celebrate the up and coming Easter weekend than with an Easter theme.

I associate April with new beginnings and lots of baby animals, hence the rabbit theme on my card.
Usually I stamp my images using black Memento ink but for a change I used rich coco and I really liked the effect as it muted the colours and gave a shabby chic feel.
Materials Used:
Base card - Off white linen card 300gsm
Paper - Pale blue taken from the Basic Grey Koshi pad and embossed with a daisy design by Crafts Too.
Bunnies paper by Nancy Watt. I've had my paper for some time but you can still buy it from Making Cards Magazine April 2009.
Image - Magnolia stamps 2011 Spring set
Medium - Copics,Prisma pencils (to add more definition) and Distress Ink - worn lipstick and brown corduroy.
Embellishments - Lace, ribbon, paper flowers and others, metal button, LOTV sentiment.

I am entering the following challenges:
Magnolia Down Under - #140 Easter inspired
Paper Sundaes - Easter
Cupcake Inspirations - challenge 154 - bunnies

Thanks for stopping by.

Papertake Weekly - Lets Get Krafty

Afternoon Crafters.
It's time for the new Papertake Weekly challenge and this week we would like to see kraft card on your project.
Once again we are sponsored by The Ribbon Girl

I have used one of my favourite Magnolia stamps and coloured her with Prisma Pencils. This little cutie can be used for so many occasions.
The papers are co-ordinated and I've had them for about 3 years. Madness I know but I just couldn't bring myself to use them. Unfortunately the photo isn't very good so the papers are a little washed out. At the moment I only seem to be able able to take photos in the evenings or early morning which is never ideal. Roll on the Summer.
The sentiment is a Tim Holtz stamp about friends being chocolate chips.
The other embellishments used are lace, ribbon, brads, Prima flowers, hat pin and a couple of very old pearls.

I hope you can join us this week.

Papertake Weekly - A Colour Challenge using Tilda

Afternoon crafters.
I'm back again with my card for the challenge over at
This week our theme is "Black, Red and White" and we are sponsored by Whiff of Joy.
Be sure to check out my fellow DT's card for lots of inspiration.

I have been practising another technique tutorial over at Color Me Creative which is part of the Magnolia 3 class. It's how to create a tiled floor. This is my first attempt and is not too bad.
I've kept the card simple so that the picture is the main focus.
The white paper has been embossed using a Cuttlebug herringbone design, the black paper has a linen effect.
I've added stitching using a white pen.
The sentiment is a stamp by Rachel Miller. I cut out a circle, coloured it with Copics and edged with white embossing powder, to finish off I used a punch to add some small holes.
Finally I added 3 types of ribbon, a few flowers and a couple of brads and hey presto.

Thanks for stopping by today.

EAC - Christmas Countdown Card

Good morning crafting buddies.
It's Tuesday and time for another challenge from
Everybody Art Challenge.
This week we would like to see a project using a calendar.
Be sure to check out my fellow DT for lots of inspiration.
My design is an Advent Calendar, known as a Christmas Countdown card. My first Christmas card for the year.

So what have I done to put this card together:
To make the countdown I followed the instructions created by Tanja over at Stempeleinmaleins.

The image is Sweet Christmas Tilda coloured with Copics.
I recently signed up for a class over at Color Me Creative - class 5 and one of the techniques is to use a flicking motion to blend instead of my tried and trusted circles. This method uses less ink and I've got to say it didn't come easy but I'm pleased with the result.

I've used Basic Grey Jovial papers and also made my own with a Magnolia snowflake image.
Distress ink was used to edge the paper along with white embossing powder.
I found the ribbon in my ever growing stash and figured a large bow would be the perfect finishing embellishment.
That's about it for now. I hope you can join us this week.

EAC - Edwin's Ready for Christmas

Morning people it's Tuesday again and another challenge from Everybody Art Challenge but more of that in a minute.
First I need to tell you about my weekend of COPICS, COPICS and more COPICS!
Thanks to the organiser, Wendy who owns Stamps and Memories a group of crafters were able to spend the weekend having fun, learning new techniques and being challenged. Now Wendy couldn't do this alone so Dawny P from Pink Piggy Wiggy was on hand to share her expertise and challenge us with her excellent sketches and colouring techniques. An excellent weekend was had by all.
A little bird tells me another weekend is planned for the beginning of March 2012 and to help with the cost Wendy is willing to accept staged payments. Click here to go to Stamps and Memories website.
OK, back to Everybody Art Challenge, this week we have a simple sketch for you to follow.

I have used the Magnolia image - Edwin on Christmas Eve and I've coloured him using Copics and added sparkle with Stickles glue. Finally my paper from Basic Grey already had swirls so I have added some liquid pearls to bring out the design. Embellishments have been kept to a minimum, the stars are stickers stuck to card and cut out and a few green gems.

Thanks for looking and hopefully you will have time to join us this week.

EAC - Spring into Action

Morning people,
today's card is all about pearls because that's this weeks challenge over at Everybody Art Challenge. I've used liquid pearls for the Butterfly trails and flower centres on the paper and pearls in the centre of a few other flowers.
I wanted to make a Spring themed card for my Cousins' birthday this week and this cute Tilda Magnolia image is perfect . I have had Tilda with Tulips for about a year and I think this is the first time I have stamped her up, how bad is that?
Here is a close up of the coloured image

Easter Extravaganza with Magnolia Mini's

Evening all,
today's project is not a card but a mini exploding box using one of the mini Tilda's from the Fairytale selection of Magnolia stamps. I have used a Spring/Easter theme and have added a little surprise inside the box.
I have made this to enter into the Magnolia-licious Highlites - Easter Extravaganza challenge
Outside of box
Inside of box
The box measures 7.5cm high and 4cm wide when closed. Anything bigger would have made mini Tilda looked swamped.
The creme egg is a mini size and to keep it in place I have made it look as though it's in a nest.
Materials used:
Green pearlescent card for the base and Prima Marketing Fairy Flora paper
I have stamped the mini Tilda 6 times and coloured her with Copics. The wings are glittered.
The butterflies are from a Martha Stewart punch. All have been attached with thin strips of acetate so that they move in the wind.
The flowers are a mixture of Prima and something else, the leaves are a Martha Stewart punch coloured with Copics.
Enjoy the weekend and thanks for taking the time to stop by blog.

Magnolia Cupcake Birthday Treat

Happy Saturday everyone, the sunshine has left us this afternoon in Oxfordshire so it's an ideal time to upload my card for today.
I made this card a little while ago now for a special lady in the Netherlands and haven't got around to posting it.
Luckily for me over at Just Magnolia the theme is "Eyes Down - Bingo", the idea is to choose three embellishments from the list either across, down or diagonally. For my combination I have chosen , gems, flowers, ribbon and lace.
Also over at Colour Create the theme is pastels.
I have used a cute Tilda from the Butterflies and Dream collection and have coloured her with Prisma Pencils.
The flowers around Tilda are the waste from the punched edging. The paper I love, its a set from Dovecraft called Tea House, it is full of pastel shades.
Here is a close up of Tilda and my stitching, which isn't too bad!
To embellish the card I have used Prima flowers, roses, lace, ribbon, pearls, gems and butterflies punched, stamped and glazed.
I have found a few other challenge blogs that I can enter my card into. They are:
I am off to the NEC tomorrow, to see what goodies I can find......... not that I need anything but its very difficult to see all the things on offer and not spend any money.

Have a great weekend and thank you for taking the time to stop by today.

Put a Spring in your Step

Another Tuesday and another card for the Everybody Art Challenge Blog. This week the theme is Spring.
To make my easel card I have used the excellent sketch from Friday Sketchers and one of my new Magnolia stamps from the Spring Stamp Club.
This card also fits into a couple of challenges, they are:
Magnolia Down Under - Flower Power
r
Materials used:
Core Couture - glitter card for base
Papers - My Minds Eye, Dovehouse Tea House
Medium - Prisma Pencils
Sentiment - LOTV
Embellishments - Prima Flowers, Wild Orchid Crafts, Pearl brads, Lace and Ribbon
Dies - Spellbinder Circles, Nellie Snellen borders and flower die.
The Nellie Snellen dies I picked up at the Make It craft weekend at Farnborough. These dies are definitely the way forward for me, not only are they reasonably priced at £8, they store easier than the Martha Stewart punches.
This was the first craft show I have enjoyed for a long time. Usually they are so busy that its very difficult to see things and I get fed up with crowds very quickly. I got to Farnborough just after lunch and it was bliss!
Thanks for looking.

Magnolia - Chocolate Treats

Hi to all,
here is a quick card I have made using this weeks sketch over at Magnolia Down Under. I have used this cute Tilda image and coloured her with Prisma Pencils. The papers are from Basic Grey and the half circles are the packaging from Ferrero Rocher chocolates. Maybe that's why I finished the card so quickly!
The Sunflower I found whilst on holiday in Canada, the roses are from my local pound shop and the ribbon and buttons I already had.
I have followed the theme to the inside of the card.
I am also entering my card into the 7 Kids College Fund Challenge as the theme this week is square cards.

Thanks for looking.

Magnolia Mermaid - Easel Cake Card

Happy Tuesday everyone, although this post has gone out on Monday night thanks to an over zealous right finger!
This week at Everybody Art Challenge we have a simple recipe for you to follow which is "three papers, 3 flowers"
I have made an easel cake card after seeing the fantastic designs created by Kathrin of Kruemels Bastel-Blog and her excellent instructions that can be found at Stempeleinmaleins.
Front of card
I've got to say it took me hours and I can assure you it had nothing to do with the instructions or the length of time it usually takes me to choose paper. This time it was what sketch to use, what embellishments to add and box making (I'm not the quickest!)
Inside of Card
Ingredients used:
Base - Core'ordinations Glitter card
Papers - TeaHouse from Dovecraft (I love these pastel papers)
Images - Magnolia Mermaid, Bird and Rpoe from the Summer Stamp Club Kit Medium - Prisma Pencils and Copics Embellishments - various Ribbon, Anchor Brad, 3 Prima Flowers, Candles and String.
What is supposed to look like wooden stumps is rolled up pieces of brown paper, distressed with Prisma Pencils.
Sentiment - Free with some My Minds Eye Papers in a 2010 craft magazine.
Stickles Glitter Glue - around the edge of the sentiment and flowers
I am entering this card in the following challenges:
Charisma Cardz Challenge - Mythical/Fantasy
Fab n Funky - Use Texture
I hope you like the card and thanks for looking.

Happy New Year

Hi to All, here's wishing you a Happy New Year. I can't believe how fast the past week has gone and that it is already time for the first challenge of the year over at the Everybody Art Challenge Blog, which is a "New Year" theme. My card has been made using two cute Magnolia images from the latest Stamp Club kit. I have coloured the two Tilda's using my new Prisma Pencils that I received as a Christmas present from my other half. He must love me because he bought me the entire set of colours. How lucky am I? I have used My Minds Eye Christmas paper and an off-cut of Basic Grey Wassail paper, a Martha Stewart punch, ribbon and a couple of star embellishments. I had planned to do lots of crafting during the Christmas break but as usual I didn't get around to it as installing a kitchen and wallpapering the hallway has taken over. Oh well, when the house is finished I can spend all my time crafting! Thanks for looking and I hope you have some time to join the challenge this week. Jenny

Magnolia Fairytale - EAC No. 113

Another week and another card, this time using a Magnolia stamp from the Spring Stamp Club pack. It's the first time of using this image as I had put her in a drawer and forgot about her, in fact I don't think I have inked up any from the set until now.
This week's card is for the Everybody Art Challenge Blog, the theme is "Blue, Green & Brown".

I have used some gorgeous papers from the Basic Grey Cappella Pad together with green Bazzill card to layer with. I am getting a little adventurous with my sewing machine and have moved on from a simple straight stitch to a zig zag and it went without a hitch! Which is more than I can say about my disastrous colouring of the image. I thought I would try distress inks again but I find it so difficult to get a smooth colour. Copics are definitely easier for me.

To finish the card I have used blue Organza Ribbon, blue gems, a flower from Wild Orchid Crafts, a Martha Stewart punch and finally the sentiment from Clear Dollar Stamps. Oh and stickles glitter glue to add a bit of sparkle.

I have a week off of work this week so am hoping to get a day making cards although the time is supposed to be spent continuing with house renovations. Maybe my other half with take pity on me later in the week! Fingers crossed.

Have a great week and thanks for looking.

Magnolia Halloween - EAC No.112

With the end of October coming fast and Halloween just around the corner, this weeks challenge over at the Everybody Art Challenge Blog is Halloween.
I have used a cute Magnolia stamp, which is the only image I own that could be used for a Halloween card.
I started this card with a pale grey Bazill card, inked around the edge in black and stickled with Platinum glitter.
The background paper is from the Basic Grey - Eerie paper pad. To this I added black faux stitching and a few crosses of silver thread (didn't have enough of this to do all the card).
The spiders web in the corner is an onion bag.
The spider web paper is by Echo Park Paper Co, purchased at the Warwickshire Bead & Craft show a few weekends ago.
The October word is part of a Sizzix die mounted onto black card and the Bats, Ghost and Boo! is from a small Cuttlebug die.
Extra Embellishments
Flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts
Spider stickers - Sandylion Essentials
Ribbon - Hobbycraft
Oh I nearly forgot, the image is coloured using Pumice Stone and Antique Linen Distress Ink and glittered using more Platinum Stickles. The skin was coloured using E00 & E02. The shadows were made using Vintage Photo ink and a dry brush.
I am entering this card into the following challenges;
I hope you like the card and have a great week.

Magnolia Hearts & Flowers

Today's card is very sweet and girly. I made it to enter into the Just Magnolia challenge this week which is hearts and flowers. To make the card I have used K&Company Brenda Walton's Chelsea pad together with cream bazzill card and a small strip of green from the Basic Grey, Wisteria pad. I have used a Martha Stewart punch and a sewing machine to bring more detail to the card. The image started out as Tilda with a broom but I cut around her to remove this. I added some stamped flowers to make it look as though Tilda was hiding a bunch of flowers behind her back. I coloured with copics RV10, RV13, B00, B02, C1, C3, C5 and the usual skin colours. I have embellished the card with midnight blue roses covered in stickles glue and a couple of hearts. Thanks for looking and happy crafting. Jenny

Please Kiss Me - everybody Art Challenge No.67

This week over at the Everybody-Art-Challenge blog the theme is Christmas. I have used Magnolia's Tilda with mistletoe for my creation together with the sketch over at Double Dutch. The papers are from My Minds Eye Wonderful Christmas and Victorian Christmas from Dovecraft. I have coloured Tilda using a combination of Ranger distress ink (Broken China, Faded Jeans) and copics. I have used stickles glue to give a little sparkle. I hope you like the card. Jenny

Double Dutch - Tilda with Mistletoe

This card has been created using one of my new images purchased at the NEC. The Magnolia image is so cute and a dream to colour. I have made this card using the sketch over at the Double Dutch Challenge blog. It's an excellent sketch and I really enjoyed using it. The papers are My Minds Eye Wonderful Winter Glittered Paper and they are beautiful. It breaks my heart to use them! I have put a little faux stitching on the card. I had intended on using the sewing machine but absolutely hate sewing and the machine knows it so it kept clogging up. It was either cry with frustration or draw the stitching, suffice to say the sewing machine has gone back in its box and put out of sight. I have used stickles glitter glue on the image but it difficult to see in the picture. I apologise for the quality. It is raining so hard here today and is so dark that even with the lights on I couldn't get the sparkle to show up very well. To make the card: Card/Paper 6x6" white card base, My Minds Eye Wonderful Winter Glittered paper, Bazzill card (it doesn't have a name on it but the colour is a rust colour), Image stamped on Bristol Board 250gsm (115lb) Medium Ranger Distress Inks - Tattered Rose & Broken China Copics - B00, B02, B12, C1, E000, E00, E21, E31, E35, E57, RV000, R20, R11, G05, G07, G14, W1, W3 White Pen Stickles Glue - Pink & Pearlescent Thanks for taking the time to look at my blog. Everybody Art Challenge #66 - Tilda with Pig

This week over at the Everybody Art Challenge blog is a sketch for you to follow. Making this card was a challenge for me because for some reason I struggle making cards with circles and curves, madness I know. There is another office birthday coming up so no doubt this creation will be going to a good home. The stamp I have used is new and I picked it up from the Magnolia stand at the NEC last Saturday. It was tough getting to the stand but I persuvired and it payed off. In fact the place was heaving and I can't say I enjoyed it. I usually take a day off work to go on the Thursday or Friday and although busy at least you can get to look at things. I don't think I will make the same mistake next March. To make the card I have used: Card/Paper - 6x6" card, Orange Bazzill, Dapper Design 4 (doublesided) by All My Memories. Image - Magnolia - Tilda with Pig, Kars Ollyfant - Robin, Sentiment - freebie from a magaine. Embellishments - Paper flowers, Sticks, Sequins & Pearls. Tools - Spellbinder cirlce dies, Scissors - scallop design Inks - Ranger Brushed Corduroy Copics - E000, E00, E11, E31, E35, E37, B00, B02, B45, BG10, R00, R02, R11, R20, Y38, YR16 YR31, YR68, W1, W3, W5, 0 Thanks for looking and please leave a comment if you have time.
