Today I would like to share a card with you that I have made for my Dad.

Whilst blog hopping I came across the cutest image by La Pashe showcased on Jak Heath's blog. The image is called "We're Hungry" and as soon as I seen the chicks scrawny little necks and open mouths I knew this image would be perfect to use for one of my Dad's cards (he breeds small birds) and there is always a chick or two to take a peek at.

I wanted to keep the card simple so that the image remained the main focus of attention and Domi's sketch over at Simon Says Stamp fits the bill.

I printed the image twice so that I could decoupage some of the leaves, only three in this case but hopefully you can see them. Below is a closer view of the chicks and the leaves. How cute are they?

I wanted the card to be distressed (not the image), to achieve this I very roughly inked the card edges and paper edges before using my scissors to distress further. I wanted to stitch the paper but again wanted this to look very rough (and it does!).

Hanglar & Stanglar Wedding Card

This week over at Simon Says Challenge the theme is to make a wedding card for Domi one the the DT members. Luckily for me I am a member of Domi's challenge blog Everybody Art Challenge and I had already made a card to help celebrate the special occasion. I had planned to show it on my blog after 15th May to give Domi and Uli time to receive it but the challenge doesn't go on that long. I'm sure Domi and Uli will not mind me uploading it early. :) I know most wedding cards are made using lovely pastel colours but for some reason pastel doesn't spring to mind when I think of Domi, so I have gone with what I like best which is vibrant. I have chosen red, silver, dark grey and a splash of white. I am also entering my card in the My Time to Craft challenge blog, the theme is Ruby, Ruby, Ruby, Ruby To make the card: I have used red bazill card for the base and stitched onto it a silver diamond filigree on white paper. It is a product from ANW Crestwood Paper company. For the strip going down the card, I layered silver pearlescent paper, red bazill card, white linen card edged with Martha Stewart's Doilly punch, white organza ribbon with a silver edge and red printed organza ribbon on top (craftfairy.co.uk) phew that was a lot of layers. The image is from Hanglar & Stanglar stamped on to Bristol Board Extra Smooth 250gsm and layered with red bazill and silver pearlescent paper. To colour the image I have used copics. C1, C3, C5, C7 (greys), R27 & R59 (trouser stripe) for the groom's clothing. For the bride I used R27 & R59 for the sash and tiara and E50, E51 & E43 for the dress. The skin was E000, E00, E11, R20. To add a little interest to the background of the image I added different sized dots using C1. To bring it all together I made what is supposed to be a trailing bouquet using red/orange roses, a couple rose buds, leaves, a silver bow, heart shaped buttons (grey & black), a tag printed off the computer and swirls of thinly cut bazill card. Oh and a string of silver balls (not sure what is is or where I got it from). The two outside corners looked a little bare so I added a couple of graphite coloured pearls. I was really pleased with the finished design and wanted to keep it but had to let it go. It's now on its way to Europe I only hope it travels well! Time For Tea

This is a 3D box card for Mother's Day. I started it at the weekend and finished it last night. I was trying to complete it in time for the monthly competition over at Sassy Studio Designs but I missed it, so instead I am entering it into 5 challenges! Allsorts Challenge No. 41 - Mother's Day Creative Card Crew - Celebration Fussy & Fancy No. 5 - Movies The Pink Elephant No. 56 - Add green Simon Says Stamps - Mother's Day/Girly I took my inspiration from the latest Alice in Wonderland movie to be released this Friday and used the digital images from Sassy Design Studios. My mum loves a cup of tea so the Mad Hatter tea party was perfect for my project. I made a box and lined the inside with Basic Grey Eerie papers. Although you cannot see it I put in a sloping floor in the hope to create depth. The table was made from a scrap piece of card covered in Basic Grey Bitter Sweet paper. I used a Spellbinders Flower die to cut out two different sized flowers many times. Each flower was attached to thin strips of acetate of varying lengths so that they bob around. In the corners I attached mushroom embellishments again at varying heights. The images were coloured with copics, cut out and shaped on the edges so as they were not so flat. On the front of the box I attached a Fancy Pants Glitter Cut Tree to add more interest. Copics used: Cat - V06, V12, RV02, RV04 Mad Hatter - YG03, YG23, Y00, Y02, Y21, BG01, BG05, BG10 Rabbit - C1, C5, C7, W1, BG10, R27, R37 Caterpillar - Y00, Y17, Y38 Skin - E000, E00, E02, E21, R20 Stickles glue to add bling on the flowers. Punch It in Pink

Today's card I have made for a couple that will be getting married in May. I have made it using their colour scheme and I know they like the punched effect because they have it on their wedding invitations. I am entering my design in a couple of challenge blogs this week, they are; Creative Card Crew - Punch It Papertake Weekly - Pink Simon Says Stamps Challenge & DT Call - Punch It I have kept the design as free as possible of embellishments so that the punched border and image are the main focus. I coloured the image using Copics and created a large moon/sunset by masking the image and using distress inks to colour inside a spellbinders circle die. Shabby Chic - Simon Says Stamps Challenge DT Call

This week over at Simon Says Stamps Challenge they are offering two lucky people the chance of joining their design team. I thought I would have a go and enter this card. The theme is "Shabby Chic. Click here to check out their blog for all the info including the chance of winning $25 P&P free shopping spree. I have used another stamp from Stamping Bella. This little beauty is called Charlotte Ketto. I coloured her with copics, E31, E57, 0, RV000 & R20. A circle nestability cut the shape, the edge was distressed with Antique Linen distress ink and a pair of scissors. I sewed around the circle in a messy way (not difficult for me). The papers are from the K&Co Ancestry range and the pink stripes are from the Papermania Regency Pad. Shabby Chic means to me well worn but elegant. To create this effect I have edged the backing paper with vintage distress ink and then sanded the edges with an emery board to get the white worn edges. Using the same paper I have cut out the blue rose and inked the edges and attached it to another piece of paper from the same pad which I ripped, inked and curled. I sewed around the edges. The pink stripped paper I ripped, inked and embossed with diamonds before sanding lightly to distress further. The sentiment was printed from the computer and then I cut around it and roughed up the edges. To finish I used a satin ribbon and lace together with a nice big bow and finally added two silver hearts. Thanks for looking and good luck if you decide to enter. Jenny
