EAC - Yong Rebel - Yippie Yeah

Good morning crafters.
At the weekend I visited the Alexandra Palace craft show and boy did I spend a lot! If I hadn't run out of time I think I could have kept spending.
Obviously there were the estentials that always seem to run out at the same time so after purchasing that I then added to my bag with a few LOTV stamps, paper from Craftwork Cards, Nellie Snellen stamps, loads of sentiment stamps and other bits and bobs.
Oh well, it will get used at some point.
Two of the items on my DT card for
Everybody Art Challenge today are new.
The first being a cute image from Nellie Snellen and second, one of sentiments I purchased from Little Claire Designs.
Our challenge this week is to see your "Masculine" cards/projects and here's mine....

I think the Cowboy is such a cutie, I couldn't resist him.
The papers are from the Complete Boy stack from My Minds Eye and gave me the colours for the image. These have been mounted onto Kraft card.
I've used Copics and a few Prisma Pencils to add more definition/shading.
The colours used are:
Skin - E000,E00,E21,R11,R20
Hat - E50,E31,E71, Sepia Prisma, YR04 or 7
Dungarees - B95,B45,B12, Cool Grey Prisma
Top - E40, W2
Scarf and Shoes - YR04 or 7 and Y38 can't remember exactly
Green - YG11, YG23?
Sentiment - Part of  Little Claire Designs sentiment set
Final Touches - Distress ink around the edge of the paper and scissors to roughen and a very small amount of brown polka dot ribbon.

That's about it for now and hopefully you will get some time to join us over at Everybody Art Craft.

EAC - Monochrome - A Busy Lawrence Bear

Happy Tuesday people.
Today over at Everybody Art Challenge the theme is "Monochrome".

I've made a simple masculine easel card using brown and cream as my colour scheme.
Instead of using my trusted Copics, this week I thought I would try a different technique and coloured the image using Tim Holtz Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink.
The image is a cutie from Lawrence Stamps, can you believe I purchased this last October and have only just stamped it up. I seem to be accumulating quite a few stamps that haven't seen the light of day as yet.
I've used Tim Holtz Distress card and have sanded around the edges to reveal the lighter colour underneath. The embossed Happy Birthday card I created by using the Papermania embossing board. I bought this at the Farnborough show last weekend and it was a bargain for £2.99.
I have created the sentiment using the same embossing board.
To finish off I used some ribbon and a brad.

I'll be back later with this weeks card for Papertake Weekly.
thanks for stopping by.

EAC - Computer Game Crazy

Well it's Tuesday and that means a new challenge over at Everybody Art Challenge. This week the theme is shabby. Perfect for another masculine card that I have made for my Nephew's birthday.

I love card making but I am finding spending so much time sat on my behind crafting is not good for my stomach.......it has nothing to do with the number of chocolates I have managed to stuff over Christmas! So that I can keep crafting I am spending two nights a week doing Zumba and Pilates. Monday's Zumba is already out the way only tonight to go and then I'm done for the week Yay!.

As for most crafters I am finding that I am accumulating quite a few cards so I have decided to have a go at selling them on Ebay. If you are interested I have a link on my sidebar.

Back to today's card.......,
Materials Used:
Paper: My Minds Eye - Hattie
I have ripped the papers into rough square shapes and then distress the edges with Tim Holtz Distree Inks (Walnut). I also added gold embossing powder to a few edges.

Image: A lovely digi image from Mo Manning over at Digital Pencil Too
The image is coloured with Copics and cut out so that it stands proud of the paper.

Embellishments
Two buttons and a piece of string.

The inside of the card has been decorated the same as the front but wthout the embellishments.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
http://mosdigitalchallenge.blogspot.com/ - Anything goes using a Mo Manning image
http://birthdaysundaes.blogspot.com/ - Birthday
http://pileitonchallenge.blogspot.com/ - Manly cards
http://dreamvalleychallenges.blogspot.com/ - Anything goes

Sing for your Supper

Happy Mothering Sunday.
Today I would like to share a card with you that I have made for my Dad.
Whilst blog hopping I came across the cutest image by La Pashe showcased on Jak Heath's blog. The image is called "We're Hungry" and as soon as I seen the chicks scrawny little necks and open mouths I knew this image would be perfect to use for one of my Dad's cards (he breeds small birds) and there is always a chick or two to take a peek at.
I wanted to keep the card simple so that the image remained the main focus of attention and Domi's sketch over at Simon Says Stamp fits the bill.

I printed the image twice so that I could decoupage some of the leaves, only three in this case but hopefully you can see them. Below is a closer view of the chicks and the leaves. How cute are they?

I wanted the card to be distressed (not the image), to achieve this I very roughly inked the card edges and paper edges before using my scissors to distress further. I wanted to stitch the paper but again wanted this to look very rough (and it does!).

Materials used:

Card/Paper - Craftwork Cards Back 2 Basics card / First Edition Up Up & Away / Craft Creations - Brown Kraft paper

Image / Sentiment - La Pashe - We're Hungry / LOTV - Times to Treasure

Copics - Chicks - E00, E02, E11, W3 / Leaves - YG03, YG17, YG67, G29 / Nest - E53, Y28, E57, E79

Ink - Vintage Photo Distress Ink

Embellishments - Feather, Button

After searching for challenges, it looks as though I can enter quite a few this weekend. They are:

Catch the Bug - Anything Goes

Craft us Crazy - Easter/Spring

Dutch Dare - Distressing

Fairy Fun Fridays - Oh so Spring

Fussy & Fancy - Zipper or Feather

Little Miss Muffet - Stitching

Thanks for stopping by today.

Time to Celebrate with Kenny K

Hi to all. It's Tuesday and another challenge over at EVERYBODY ART CHALLENGE, but before that ............................... I would like to tell you about the excellent weekend I have shared with fellow Copic obsessed ladies! It was a Copic retreat weekend at the Milton Hill Hotel in Oxfordshire organised by Wendy the owner of Stamps and Memories along with demonstrator Karen Watson. There were various classes to teach a variety of techniques when using the markers that many of us love. I had a great time and met some really nice people. Wendy also organises day Copic courses in various locations and so if a whole weekend it just too much for you, I would recommend a day course. Check out the website for more information. Ok back to this weeks card..................
This time I have made a masculine card for my Nephew's birthday. I have used the digital image called Carmen by Kenny K which is perfect for a man in his early twenties.
Materials Used Image - Kenny K Sentiment - LOTV Bazzil peach card Complete Boy by My Minds Eye I have recycled an onion bag for the black netting The ribbon is from my ever growing stash Staples I distressed the paper using scissors before sewing around the edges. The image is coloured with Copics Skin - E00, E02, E21 Boots - C3, C5, C7 Headscarf, Bikini - Y38, YR07 Hair - sorry I put them back before recording the numbers Background - Prisma Pencil PC1020 Celadon Green. I have carried the papers and sketch over to the inside of the card. I am entering this card into the following challenges: Kenny K's Krafty Girlz - Lace, Ribbon, Bow CES Challenges - Men Only Moving Along with the Times - Men Thanks for taking the time to drop by and happy crafting. You Drive Me Crazy

Today's challenge over at the Everybody Art Challenge Blog is Valentine. I have made my card as masculine as possible without using the traditional red, black or pink. I have also kept the sentiment generic so that the card can be used for a birthday if required.
I am entering my card in the Fussy & Fancy Friday Challenge which is Valentine without red or pink.

The cute image is from LOTV sent to me by my fellow DT member, Domi. Thanks Domi. I have used Prisma Pencils to colour the image and for some reason be it camera or light, the car doesn't look as purple as the colour I have used.

The base card is Core-ordination's card, layered with purple bazzill card, then Kanban paper and finally the dotty paper is from a new pad called Animal Antics by First Edition Paper. I love looking at this paper!

The button is the closest I could get to a wheel and its from the Tim Holtz range as is measuring tape stamp.

The bigger heart is homemade using UTEE and an Anita's sentiment stamp, the smaller hear is a sticker layered onto card. The hearts are held together with a spanner brad and round brad.

The sentiment I created on the computer and tried to make it look like a sign post. I think I failed miserably.

I only added one flower to fill a space. I find it very difficult to find masculine embellishments that are not golf or football.

I hope you like the card and can find time to join the challenge this week.

EAC - 102 - Never Too Old to Have Fun

This week over at Everybody Art challenge the theme is Pirates.
At first I didn't know what to create as I had no pirate stamps and no little boy to make a card for. I don't know how you feel on the subject but crafting is a very expensive hobby if you purchase a stamp for each theme.
I had noticed on a few blogs, other people that had made some fantastic card designs using Magnolia or Mo Manning stamps. I wanted to find an image that hadn't been used before, so after searching the web for hours, I came across an old pirate that was perfect for an old guy and it was free to use! When I say free, there are obviously terms and conditions, one of these being for personal use only. My card is, because it is for my Dad's birthday.
I also found lots more free images on a range of subjects. Enough I hear you say, where did you get it from? The pirate is from www.Supercoloring.com and the parrot is from www.coloring-pictures.net these sites are aimed at children and schools. Another site with a variety of images is www.cksinfo.com I think I found the chest on this site.
As always the image has been coloured with copics.
The red stripe paper was a freebie in a magazine some time ago. The black paper is from Black Market Paper Society - Arsenic & Old Lace. The brown paper is from an old K&Co pad, distressed with ink. The shells are from the new Magnolia Summer kit.
Some of you have asked where I got the motorbike rider image from. Sorry I haven't replied sooner, I have been on a long holiday. The image I got quite some time ago and have not been able to find it again. Whilst looking for you I came across some similar images and these you will not need to purchase coloring-pages-to-print.blogspot or Karensdoodles.com has a great image to buy called, "Born to Ride"
Thanks for looking and have a great week hunting for new images.
