EAC - Easter Wishes

Good morning crafters.
It's our first craft challenge for April over at Everybody Art Challenge and what better way to celebrate the up and coming Easter weekend than with an Easter theme.

I associate April with new beginnings and lots of baby animals, hence the rabbit theme on my card.
Usually I stamp my images using black Memento ink but for a change I used rich coco and I really liked the effect as it muted the colours and gave a shabby chic feel.
Materials Used:
Base card - Off white linen card 300gsm
Paper - Pale blue taken from the Basic Grey Koshi pad and embossed with a daisy design by Crafts Too.
Bunnies paper by Nancy Watt. I've had my paper for some time but you can still buy it from Making Cards Magazine April 2009.
Image - Magnolia stamps 2011 Spring set
Medium - Copics,Prisma pencils (to add more definition) and Distress Ink - worn lipstick and brown corduroy.
Embellishments - Lace, ribbon, paper flowers and others, metal button, LOTV sentiment.

I am entering the following challenges:
Magnolia Down Under - #140 Easter inspired
Paper Sundaes - Easter
Cupcake Inspirations - challenge 154 - bunnies

Thanks for stopping by.

With the weekend fast approaching I thought I would share with you a twisted easel card that I have made for any occasion or as the sentiment states "just because". EAC - Bird Watching

It's Tuesday and time for another challenge from the Everybody Art Challenge Team. With the Easter break getting closer we would like to see your Easter projects.
I don't usually make or send Easter cards because I don't know anyone that celebrates it in that way so have used a card that I made at a recent Copicific Retreat that I attended. The components and design of this card was not something that I came up with, that pleasure goes to a very talented lady called Karen Brown who was one of the demonstrators during the Copic weekend. I did however, colour the image, stick everything together, oh and added the ribbon!

The image is by Heltz Cuppleditch - Ruffles Bird Watching

Such a cute little pup and easy to colour with Copics.
The dry embossed background is by Crafts Too - Daisy, the sentiment is by Personal Impressions and the ribbon was purchased at the NEC recently.
Thanks for stopping by today and happy crafting.

Everybody Art Challenge No. 75 - Blue/Brown/White

This week over at Everybody Art Challenge is a colour theme. The challenge is to use blue, brown and white. I have made my card for my Nephew who celebrated his 18th Birthday recently. Once again I have used a Mo Manning image, I just love them because there is always an image that fits perfectly for my project. To make this card I have used papers from various K&Co paper pads, these being, Ancestry & Life's Journey both pads. I wanted the card to appear worn so to create this effect I ripped, curled and distressed the edges with ink. The image was coloured with Copics and the background with distress inks. The effect behind the image was created by embossing a blue piece of Bazzill card with a Cuttlebug circle folder. I then swiped two ink pads over the top (Ranger Vintage Photo & Dew Drop Silver). To highlight the circles I used a white gel pen. For the "18 Today" I have used Sizzix alphabet "Fruit Smoothie" To finish I added a ribbon, charm and a word sticker. If you get time please play along with this week's challenge over at Everybody Art Challenge. I will enjoy visiting your blog to see what beautiful artwork you come up with. Thanks for looking. Everybody-Art-Challenge No. 65 - Distressing

I am so shocked and happy, I have made it onto the Everybody-Art-Challenge Design Team. As this is the first design team I have ever been part of and know nothing about Yahoo Groups, this weekend has been a steep learning curve. To add to my confusion the group is in German and although I studied the language for A-Level, that was 20 years ago and have forgotten everything. Thank goodness for google translate! This weeks challenge is to make something using the distressing technique. I have chosen to make a card using the colour scheme black, red, silver and white and have used last weeks sketch #64. To make the card I have used: Card/Paper - 6x6" white card, Bristol Board Extra Smooth 250gsm, Basic Grey Scarletts Letter (Black), Pine Cone Press textured card stock PP9172 (Red), Oriental patterned paper, Stardream paper (Silver) Image - Manga 2 - Sugar Nellie (Funky Kits), Sentiment - clear stamp free in a magazine Medium - Copic Ciao - E00, E21, E20, R32, R37, R59, C1, W1, W3, Ranger Distress Inks - Mahogany (background), Black (edges) Gelly Roll white pen (to distress the flower) Dies/ Embossing - Nestabilities Label Four, Cuttlebug Circles Embossing folder (black background and flower) Tools - Scissors to fray the edges of the paper, Emery board to remove some of the colour off of the embossed design Embellishment - Lace, Graphite satin ribbon, red grosgrain ribbon, red gems, red flower from stash Check out the inspirational designs from the other design team members. A direct link to each of their blogs can be found on my side bar. I hope you like my card. Please leave a message if you have time as its always nice to receive feedback and visit all your blogs. Autumnal Wedding - Hanglar & Stanglar - Multiple Challenges

I have created this card for a wedding coming up in November. The brief was to create an elegant card large enough for many people to sign, using a cute stamped image. I wasn't given a colour scheme so decided to go with autumnal which fits in to this weeks challenge over at Everybody-art-challenge.blogspot.com. I knew the image would look great coloured in shades of brown and cream and layered with gold mirri and copper stardream paper. I love to use punches on my cards. The one used is from Craft Habitat. It's perfect for adding elegance to a design and has made the flower look very delicate. It also enables me to join in with this weeks challenge over at Daring Card Makers - Getting punchy with it. This week over at Simon Says Stamps Challenge blogspot the theme is all that sparkles. To get some sparkle into my design, besides using gold mirri card, I have used a metallic edge satin ribbon and edged a tag with gold foil. The image has a few dots of stickles on it. Finally to bring it all together I have used last weeks sketch over at Friday Sketchers Challenge Blog. Items used: Card/ Paper - Stardream Bronze card 21 x 21cm, Stardream Copper paper, Stardream Quartz paper, Gold Mirri, Hot off the Press - 8x8" Wedding Paper Pizazz Rubber Stamp - Hanglar & Stanglar Bridpar2 Medium - Copics - E000, E00, E21, E33, E35, E43, E47, E49, E50, E51, E53, E57, 0 Distress Inks - Ranger Brushed Corduroy Gold Foil Embellishments - Rose buds Ribbon Pearls Dies - Spellbinder Flowers Embossing Boards - Cuttlebug Textile Thanks for taking the time to look and please leave a comment if you have time. Its always nice to get your thoughts good or bad. Jenny

First Dance - Dutch Dare & Stamp Something Challenge

Another Wedding card. This time for a friends daughter. Just one more wedding card to make and then its on to the next batch of birthday cards. I haven't used a sketch from a challenge blog because I couldn't find one that fitted what I wanted to do but I am entering this card into the Dutch Dare Challenge which was to take colour inspiration from a photo and the Stamp Something Challenge which was to use your favourite embellishment. My favourite has to be ribbon but I also like to make my own paper embellishments where I can. After tying the ribbon into a bow I twisted the ends into ringlets and then attached it into place with silicone. I love the dry embossing technique because I can create something reasonably quickly that looks elegant and expensive. I never seem to use it enough on my cards because I always want to try and do something different with each creation. I have used a beautiful stamp from Sugar Nellie called First Dance. It was a dream to colour with my copics. It was so easy I stamped it twice and then layered one on top the other. This is a sign of a good stamp for me because if it takes me too long to colour I can't be bothered to create a copy. To make this card: Card/Paper - 6x6 white square card, Bazzil Bling Chandler, Ice White Stardream paper, Bristol Board Image - Sugar Nellie First Dance Medium - Copics, ColorBox Blue ink for the background and pink for the paper rose Embellishments - Ribbon, White Paper Rose, Hearts, Pearls Dies - Spellbinders Hearts Nesties. Embossing Plates - Swiss Dots & Birds & Swirls Text - Hot Foil Wizard I hope you like the card and thanks for looking. Jenny
