EAC No. 88 - My Favourite Things

Its Tuesday again and with the last of the appraisals finished I can now relax of an evening and spend the time crafting as apposed to writing motivational things about people. This week over at Everybody Art Challenge the theme is "Song Title". I have used the song "My Favourite Things" taken from the hit musical The Sound of Music. It happened to be on over Easter and when I heard it I knew it was perfect for a card. My favourite things in life are chocolates so I couldn't resist making a box of yummy chocs to go on my card. If only someone would give me a box of chocolates that big, or any size would be good! To further embellish I have used Magnolia's sweet paper and checks from their Yummy range. To make the chocolate I have used fimo. The chocolate box was made using foiled card and vellum for the insert. Sorry I can't remember where I got the card from. To finish I have used an organza ribbon, gems and silver mirri board as a layer. Enjoy the week and thanks for looking. Jenny

EAC No. 87 - One Today

A quick post from me today, I have a large amount of appraisal writing to do for my team and it takes hours so time is short. I am losing the will to live! This week over at Everybody Art we have a sketch for you to follow. I have made my card using paper from Papermania Honey & Hugs. Perfect for childrens cards. I have used fluffy stuff on the sheep together with lace, a few flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts and some foam letters for the sentiment. Check out the other DT entries to see some beautiful artwork. Thanks for looking and enjoy the week. Jenny

Everybody Art No. 86 - Paper Patchwork

This week over at Everybody Art the challenge is paper patchwork. For some crazy reason I thought it would be a good idea to cut the paper into triangles. I love the finished effect but it took me a long time sewing each piece together. I have used two gorgeous sheets of paper from the Papermania Rose Garden 6x6" pad. I had coloured a cute Magnolia image to go on the front but the image covered the papers too much so I decided against it. To finish I have used roses in varying sizes, a sentiment printed off the computer and stickles glue around the edge and on the roses. Thanks for looking. Jenny

Cupcakes Just For You

I have managed to make a card at last! I have had the week off with the intention of relaxing and making lots of cards unfortunately it didn't happen. As always house renovations took over and minor disasters! First off, I have ducks, five beautiful ducks, two males and three females. All was peaceful in my garden until Easter and then my males got the urge to reproduce and because they hadn't teamed up with a female back in October they are quite violent when they want their way. To stop this my other and half and I were in the garden over the Easter weekend in the heavy rain building a garden divide. All is well and piece and harmony has returned. The next thing was a problem with my Gouldian Finch. She became egg bound and after 24 hours of trying to force it out and near death I had to get her to the vet. They had to put her on oxygen, how they did it I don't know because Gouldians are tiny little birds but this gave her enough of a boost for one last push and hey presto the egg came out. The poor little thing looked in a very sorry state when I took her home. I had to keep a heat lamp on her all day and keep checking on her. It wasn't until the evening that she was able to fly up to the perch. Finally house renovations, our house is definitely a labour of love. we have had to extend the kitchen, replace the electrics, put in central heating, plaster every wall and ceiling, install a kitchen and bathroom and now we are down to putting in architrave, skirting board, flooring and painting. The end is near or it would have been if we didn't have to go back to working on the bathroom. The love of my life decided to clean the bathroom this week, why I don't know as this is not something he usually does, maybe he was trying to give me some free time to craft! Unfortunately, he tried to wipe down a glass shelf without taking the perfume bottles off of it so they fell into my nice new sink smashing it. This wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't a semi-recessed sink attached to a fitted cabinet. The sink was siliconed in so well we couldn't free it and ended up damaging the worktop. The items are on order so its back to the bathroom. It's work for me tomorrow and a week of writing staff appraisals and performance meetings so even less time for crafting. If only I could win the lottery and retire! The card I have made is using a gorgeous image given to me by Sassy Design Studio. She is actually making a casserole but I have hidden this with cupcakes, much more yummy to look at! Check out the Sassy Design Studio, they are giving away free digital images for a short time. Items used; Pink Bazzill card, Basic Grey porcelain paper. Nestability dies to cut out the shapes. Papermania cupcake embellishments Ribbon A sentiment from Rachelle Anne Miller Stickles glue and pearls. The image was coloured with Copics; Blues - B00, 02, 05, Greens - YG03, YG06, G21, Hair - E33, E35, E47, Face skin - E000, E00, E11, R11, R20, C1, and green for the eyes. Thanks for looking and enjoy the week. Jenny

Everybody Art No.85 & Stamp Something - New York Style

Hi everyone I hope you had an enjoyable Easter break. I had great plans for the four days break but it feels as though I closed my eyes and now it's Tuesday already and I still haven't done all the things I had planned to do. I have the rest of the week off with my other half to continue with the house renovation. I will be so glad when its finished. I've had a good fortnight for surprises, the first being given a free digital stamp of my choice from Sassy Studio Designs. This was for my Mother's Day box card creation even though I didn't enter it into the competition because I missed the deadline! Secondly, for the same design I was chosen as one of the top five by the Fussy & Fancy Challenge blog. Thank you very much. Today's card I have made for Everybody Art and Stamp Something (pink somethings) using a new stamp I received for my birthday last month. The stamp is called New York Style and has been around for a few years but I couldn't find it. The image is so beautiful I wanted to keep it as the main focus of the card. I have used some very tactile animal print fur effect card. The pink backing paper is from the Paper Pizazz Wedding 8x8" pad. I've had this for a long time so not sure if it can still be purchased. I have layered using black linen card and pink paper. To finish off I have used three pink rose buds, a pink feather, black and pink satin ribbon and silver pearls. The image has been coloured with Copics, C5, C7, 100 (black) and a pink but I can't remember which one. I have used a white pen to add definition and lots of stickles glue although not seen in this photo. Thanks for looking and enjoy the week. Jenny
