Punch It in Pink

Today's card I have made for a couple that will be getting married in May. I have made it using their colour scheme and I know they like the punched effect because they have it on their wedding invitations. I am entering my design in a couple of challenge blogs this week, they are; Creative Card Crew - Punch It Papertake Weekly - Pink Simon Says Stamps Challenge & DT Call - Punch It I have kept the design as free as possible of embellishments so that the punched border and image are the main focus. I coloured the image using Copics and created a large moon/sunset by masking the image and using distress inks to colour inside a spellbinders circle die. Materials used; Card/Paper - 6x6" white card blank, Bazzill Berry Blush, Two Toned Pink Card, & Basic Grey Image - Sugar Nellie First Dance Punches- Craft Habitat Silvermoon Punch range, Martha Stewart Doily Dies - Spellbinders Nestability Hearts, Circle Other Tools - Circle Template, Circle Cutter, Kreations Positioning Parts for Coroner Punch Medium - Tim Holtz Distress Inks, Tattered Rose, Antique Linen, Vintage Photo Copics - E50, E53, E43, C1, C3, C5, RV000, R11, E00, 0 Embellishments - Pink satin ribbon, white paper rose Thanks for taking the time to visit. Everybody-Art-Challenge No. 65 - Distressing

I am so shocked and happy, I have made it onto the Everybody-Art-Challenge Design Team. As this is the first design team I have ever been part of and know nothing about Yahoo Groups, this weekend has been a steep learning curve. To add to my confusion the group is in German and although I studied the language for A-Level, that was 20 years ago and have forgotten everything. Thank goodness for google translate! This weeks challenge is to make something using the distressing technique. I have chosen to make a card using the colour scheme black, red, silver and white and have used last weeks sketch #64. To make the card I have used: Card/Paper - 6x6" white card, Bristol Board Extra Smooth 250gsm, Basic Grey Scarletts Letter (Black), Pine Cone Press textured card stock PP9172 (Red), Oriental patterned paper, Stardream paper (Silver) Image - Manga 2 - Sugar Nellie (Funky Kits), Sentiment - clear stamp free in a magazine Medium - Copic Ciao - E00, E21, E20, R32, R37, R59, C1, W1, W3, Ranger Distress Inks - Mahogany (background), Black (edges) Gelly Roll white pen (to distress the flower) Dies/ Embossing - Nestabilities Label Four, Cuttlebug Circles Embossing folder (black background and flower) Tools - Scissors to fray the edges of the paper, Emery board to remove some of the colour off of the embossed design Embellishment - Lace, Graphite satin ribbon, red grosgrain ribbon, red gems, red flower from stash Check out the inspirational designs from the other design team members. A direct link to each of their blogs can be found on my side bar. I hope you like my card. Please leave a message if you have time as its always nice to receive feedback and visit all your blogs. First Dance - Dutch Dare & Stamp Something Challenge

Another Wedding card. This time for a friends daughter. Just one more wedding card to make and then its on to the next batch of birthday cards. I haven't used a sketch from a challenge blog because I couldn't find one that fitted what I wanted to do but I am entering this card into the Dutch Dare Challenge which was to take colour inspiration from a photo and the Stamp Something Challenge which was to use your favourite embellishment. My favourite has to be ribbon but I also like to make my own paper embellishments where I can. After tying the ribbon into a bow I twisted the ends into ringlets and then attached it into place with silicone. I love the dry embossing technique because I can create something reasonably quickly that looks elegant and expensive. I never seem to use it enough on my cards because I always want to try and do something different with each creation. I have used a beautiful stamp from Sugar Nellie called First Dance. It was a dream to colour with my copics. It was so easy I stamped it twice and then layered one on top the other. This is a sign of a good stamp for me because if it takes me too long to colour I can't be bothered to create a copy. To make this card: Card/Paper - 6x6 white square card, Bazzil Bling Chandler, Ice White Stardream paper, Bristol Board Image - Sugar Nellie First Dance Medium - Copics, ColorBox Blue ink for the background and pink for the paper rose Embellishments - Ribbon, White Paper Rose, Hearts, Pearls Dies - Spellbinders Hearts Nesties. Embossing Plates - Swiss Dots & Birds & Swirls Text - Hot Foil Wizard I hope you like the card and thanks for looking. Jenny
