Everybody Art Challenge No. 79

Its Tuesday again and time for a new challenge over at Everybody Art Challenge and a new sponsor. For a chance of winning a prize kindly donated by Lauretta of Lauretta's Digital Stamps you will need to make an easel card and upload your image using Mr Linky. For my card I have used Lauretta's "French Lady". As soon as I saw it I thought Art Deco and a stylish lady of the time known as a Flapper.

I have used papers from the La Creme Stack by DCWV and green and silver mirri card for the bling. I have used black ribbon and edged it with stickle glue along with a few flowers. I have kept it simple so as the image is the main focus but couldn't resist the feather and green gems!

As always I have coloured the image with copics, G99, YG06, E50 & E51 for the dress and C1, C3 & C5 for the shawl and hat.

I have added stickle glue to the dress and hat pin but the photo hasn't picked it up.

A New Bundle of Joy - Everybody Art Challenge No. 78

This week over at Everybody Art Challenge we have a great sketch for you to follow. A work colleague became a Grandmother for the first time recently and so I made her a card to celebrate. As usual I have used a digital stamp from Digital Pencil Too. I have used pale green bazzill card together with Nana's Nursery Baby Boy paper and a small piece of Crafty Individuals Springtime paper. I finished the card with lace, organza ribbon, two buttons and a cute teddy bear charm. The congratulations tag pulls out to reveal a personal message. As always the image is coloured with copics. Everybody Art Challenge No. 76 - Thankyou

Todays card was supposed to be a quick one but it turned into a disaster all because of the backing paper (Anna Griffiths). I love this paper but I find it very difficult to get anything else to go with it. I stamped the flowers and butterflies onto a piece of card that I covered with distress inks (peeled paint and mustard yellow) and spritzed with water to get the water marks. The rust/orange paper although not a perfect match was the best of a bad job. It was embossed with a cuttlebug folder and sanded a little. Everybody Art Challenge No. 75 - Blue/Brown/White

This week over at Everybody Art Challenge is a colour theme. The challenge is to use blue, brown and white. I have made my card for my Nephew who celebrated his 18th Birthday recently. Once again I have used a Mo Manning image, I just love them because there is always an image that fits perfectly for my project. To make this card I have used papers from various K&Co paper pads, these being, Ancestry & Life's Journey both pads. I wanted the card to appear worn so to create this effect I ripped, curled and distressed the edges with ink. The image was coloured with Copics and the background with distress inks. The effect behind the image was created by embossing a blue piece of Bazzill card with a Cuttlebug circle folder. I then swiped two ink pads over the top (Ranger Vintage Photo & Dew Drop Silver). To highlight the circles I used a white gel pen. For the "18 Today" I have used Sizzix alphabet "Fruit Smoothie" To finish I added a ribbon, charm and a word sticker. Young Love - Everybody Art Challenge No. 74

This week over at Everybody Art challenge is a fabulous sketch created by Domi. I have combined the sketch with a lovely digital stamp by Mo Manning. It's called "Young Love" . As soon as I seen it I knew it would be perfect to help celebrate my parents 52nd Wedding Anniversary. To make the card I have used Card/Paper - Yellow Bazzill card, Backing paper - Jen Wilson's 29th Street Market, Basic Grey Indian Summer I have edged the paper with my Vintage Distress Ink and Stickles glue. I used Martha Stewart's doily punch on a piece of yellow paper, distressed it and glued gold satin ribbon through the middle. The foliage was created using Martha Stewart's frond punch and some leaves purchased at a fair. The flowers were purchased from Ebay. The image was coloured using copics: B00, B23, B45, BG93, C1, C5 C7, E000, E00, E11, E21, E31, E33, E35, E43, E50, G21, Y11, Y17, Y21, Y38, YR23, YR31, YG11, W1, W3, W5, W7 & 0 To finish I added a sentiment I printed off the computer together with pearls and a cherub. My parents loved their card but pointed out they are not yet as wrinkly as the image suggests. Check out the beautiful artwork created by my fellow design team members. Fun in the Snow - Everybody Art Challenge No.73

This week over at Everybody Art Challenge the theme is snow. I for one would like the weather to change, as trying to manage a team of people and ensure they stay safe but get the job done is becoming an increasing headache. Unfortunately forensic pathology waits for no one and so closing a department for days on end is not an option. On top of that the nasty cold I mentioned at the beginning of the year has come back with avengence. The sore throat is so bad its difficult to swallow and is not helped by the dry tickly cough. The pounding headache makes it difficult to concentrate and the aches and changing temperature makes me want to curl up and hibernate. Some days are better than others and its on these days that I try to work on my card designs. I have kept this design quick and simple. I know lots of people are having fun in the snow so found a lovely digital stamp created by Mo Manning called Toboggan . You can purchase this design at Digital Pencil Too. To make the card I have embossed the background using the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots. I cut the shape using my Spellbinders largest label Nestabilities and then embossed it with the Spellbinders Snowflake Impressabilities. A blue ink pad was used to pick up the design. I coloured the image using Copics and then cut it out, shaped the edges and used foam pads to lift it off the page. The snow at the bottom of the page was made by ripping strips of white paper, layering them up and using wet glue to stick glitter on to it. I have gone mad with the stickles glue using it to edge the card and put a little bling on the image. Its not easy to see but I have also covered some of the dots to make it look like snow falling. Finally I have tied some organza ribbon around the spine and attached a sentiment using a holographic sticker. Copics used for the clothes were YG11, YG23, YG63, B00, B02, B05, RV02, RV06, C1, C3, C5 I apologise for not leaving comments on your blogs for all the lovely artwork you create but am hoping this will change over the next week or so. Everybody Art Challenge No72 - Favourite Colour Combo

Here is this weeks creation for the Everybody Art Challenge. The theme is to use your favourite colour combo, mine is red,gold and brown. I am lucky to work with very talented crafters over at Everybody Art Challenge, please check out their blogs by clicking on the names on my sidebar. This is my 2nd easel card. I created this just before Christmas for a friend to give her Mother on Christmas Day for her birthday. The request was to have something with buttons and stitching! As mentioned before on my blog, I hate sewing because it always goes wrong. With fear I set up my sewing machine and had a quick practice on a scrap piece of paper and hey presto, it didn't jam up! I took the plunge and sewed away and actually enjoyed it. It would have been a different story if I had ruined the beautiful papers. Everybody Art Challenge No. 71- Happy New Year

This week over at Everybody Art Challenge its a Happy New Year and because its Christmas the challenge will last for two weeks. To make my card I have used a sexy digital stamp from Sassy Studio Designs called Martini. The papers are from My Minds Eye Signature Christmas. I have used copics to colour the image. Every Art Challenge No. 70 - Cute Christening

This is my creation for this weeks challenge over at Everybody Art Challenge. My friend's baby is being Christened just after Christmas so I thought I would make something now to have a break from Christmas cards. This is a digital image from Digitalpenciltoo. It's called Michael but I've turned it into a little girl! I've used stickle glue on the wings and halo. I used Ranger ink to change the colour of the flower, added a charm and hair pin with beads. Everybody Art Challenge No. 68 - Stitching Real or Faux & Stamp Something - Thanks

This is my contribution to this weeks challenge over at Everybody Art Challenge, the theme being stitching real or faux. I am also going to enter it into the Stamp Something Challenge. Boy was this a challenge for me. I have an aversion to sewing machines and a needle and thread. I think it stems from my school days when I took a whole term to make a top only to find one side was smaller than the other and hours of work had to be unpicked. I never did finish it!

To ensure there were no tears I pricked holes in the paper measuring the gaps with a ruler and then hand sewed using the holes as a guide. I can't sew straight even with a straight line but never mind I think it gives the card a rustic look! That's what I think and I'm sticking to it.

I have added stickles glue for the bling and a black gem for the ring.

I've added a couple of charm brads although not easy to see. The first is a cosmetic bag, the second a made with love envelope. The flower is a midnight blue rose bought from ebay (Mulberry Crafts UK), I think there were 50 in the bag for about £2.50. Below that is a blue prima flower - Painterly Petals Morning Silk To finish it off I coloured a cherry blossom flower and added a couple of rose buds. and finally a circle of navy paper roughly cut.

Please Kiss Me - everybody Art Challenge No.67

This week over at the Everybody-Art-Challenge blog the theme is Christmas. I have used Magnolia's Tilda with mistletoe for my creation together with the sketch over at Double Dutch. The papers are from My Minds Eye Wonderful Christmas and Victorian Christmas from Dovecraft. I have coloured Tilda using a combination of Ranger distress ink (Broken China, Faded Jeans) and copics. I have used stickles glue to give a little sparkle. I hope you like the card. Jenny

Everybody Art Challenge #66 - Tilda with Pig

This week over at the Everybody Art Challenge blog is a sketch for you to follow. Making this card was a challenge for me because for some reason I struggle making cards with circles and curves, madness I know. There is another office birthday coming up so no doubt this creation will be going to a good home. The stamp I have used is new and I picked it up from the Magnolia stand at the NEC last Saturday. It was tough getting to the stand but I persuvired and it payed off. In fact the place was heaving and I can't say I enjoyed it. I usually take a day off work to go on the Thursday or Friday and although busy at least you can get to look at things. I don't think I will make the same mistake next March. Everybody-Art-Challenge No. 65 - Distressing

I am so shocked and happy, I have made it onto the Everybody-Art-Challenge Design Team. As this is the first design team I have ever been part of and know nothing about Yahoo Groups, this weekend has been a steep learning curve. To add to my confusion the group is in German and although I studied the language for A-Level, that was 20 years ago and have forgotten everything. Thank goodness for google translate! This weeks challenge is to make something using the distressing technique. I have chosen to make a card using the colour scheme black, red, silver and white and have used last weeks sketch #64. Autumnal Wedding - Hanglar & Stanglar - Multiple Challenges

I have created this card for a wedding coming up in November. The brief was to create an elegant card large enough for many people to sign, using a cute stamped image. I wasn't given a colour scheme so decided to go with autumnal which fits in to this weeks challenge over at Everybody-art-challenge.blogspot.com. I knew the image would look great coloured in shades of brown and cream and layered with gold mirri and copper stardream paper. I love to use punches on my cards. The one used is from Craft Habitat. It's perfect for adding elegance to a design and has made the flower look very delicate. It also enables me to join in with this weeks challenge over at Daring Card Makers - Getting punchy with it. This week over at Simon Says Stamps Challenge blogspot the theme is all that sparkles. To get some sparkle into my design, besides using gold mirri card, I have used a metallic edge satin ribbon and edged a tag with gold foil. The image has a few dots of stickles on it. Finally to bring it all together I have used last weeks sketch over at Friday Sketchers Challenge Blog.
