EAC - Baby Blues

Happy Tuesday everyone,
today our theme over at Everybody Art Challenge is Banner/Flag.
I have been struggling with my mojo since suffering an illness recently and have found getting back into card making hard work. I find myself looking at paper for ages and not choosing anything to use, or if I do find the paper cannot decide how to stick it on the card. I am hoping this will change very soon as I've got a lot of design work to do.

To make this card I have used:
Paper/card - White paper embossed with Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder, Mirri card, Nanas Nursery DCWV. Faux stitching using a white pen.
Images - New Babys Foot by KLMs, Banner - Magnolia stamps,
Sentiment - Lili of the Valley
Medium - Prisma Pencils
Finished with Stickles glue to edge the paper and a couple of pearl gems.

Thanks for stopping by to day and enjoy the week.

EAC No. 143 - A Special Day for a Mum to be

Happy Tuesday crafting buddies,
I hope you are all ready to join in with the excellent sketch we have for you today over at
Everybody Art Challenge.
Sketch von Alex
Over the past week I have been working on a special gift book card for a member of my team at work who will be going on maternity leave at the end of this week.
Here is the front of the card using the sketch.
Here is a side view of the layers and what is supposed to be pages of a book
Partially open

Finally, the gift inside where two sleep suits can be found. The mother to be doesn't know whether its a boy or girl hence the rainbow of colours.
There is so much going on, on the front of the card I've kept the inside embellishment free to give plenty of space for a personal sentiment.

Materials used:
Base - Lemon Bazzill card
Papers - Freebie from Papercraft Essentials Magazine - Sweet Wishes paper
I have distressed inked and sewn around the edge of the papers and used faux stitching around the circle
Punch and Dies- Martha Stewart daisy punch and leaf punch, Nellie Snellen multi frame
Image - Teddy Bea no.84 (new digital stamp)
Medium - Copics and Prisma Pencils
(my desk is so messy I can't find the paper where I recorded the pen colours)
Sentiment - Lili of the Valley & computer generated for Mum to be
Embellishments - Lace, ribbon, Prima flowers, roses, hat pins, beads, swirl gems
Finishing touches - Platinum Stickles glue, Tim Holtz antique linen and walnut distress ink.

I am going to enter this card into the following challenges:
Fuzzy Wuzzy - Babies + animal
Emerald Faeries - Anything goes
(new monthly challenge blog with cute digital images to be had)

Thanks for stopping by and have a good week.

Stitched Up - Get Well Soon

It's Saturday and what a day its been, with food shopping, laundry, housework, duck feeding and mucking out at last I have an evening to myself. I am supposed to be searching the web to find the perfect destination for a holiday in June (left to me every year because my other half tells me I am so good at this time consuming task!) instead I thought I would share a card I made earlier in the week and some exciting news for me.
First here is the card
This digital stamp by Just Inklined -La Pasche made me laugh and I just had to purchase it. My Mum liked it as well and has already nabbed this card for her friend.

Materials Used:
Paper - K&Co Amy Butler Speciality Paper - AB Lotus Teabox & First Edition Sweet Owl pad
I've distressed around the edge and finished with stitching.

Image - Flossie Bumblethorpe by Just Inklined coloured with Copics (sorry have cleared them away before recording them)

Embellishments - Flowers (various), string, paper buttons and gems.

The inside has been decorated the same as the outside.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:
Colour Create - White, Cream, Brown and optional 1 other colour (I've used pink in case you didn't notice!)
Craft us Crazy - Something New/ and favourite embellishment (digi stamp & flowers)
Crazy4Challenges - C4C88 Humour
Truly Scrumptious - Anything goes
A Spoonful of Sugar No. 152 - Anything goes

Finally my news.............for the first time ever I have been asked to be a Guest Designer for a month of which I am skipping about with joy over. It made my day earlier in the week when I received an email from Faye over at Cupcake Craft Challenges with the invite and obviously I jumped at it as this opportunity doesn't come up very often, not when there is such amazing talent out there in blogland.
Faye and her team set a new challenge every Monday so be sure to drop by and participate if you can.

Thanks for stopping by and happy crafting.

EAC No. 142 - Distressed Tag/Bookmark

Happy Tuesday everyone.
Today's challenge over at Everybody Art Challenge is to make a Tag.
A few weeks ago I attended a Sheena Douglass workshop using her new technique "Paint Fusion". The first project was to make a tag, although I have turned mine into a bookmark.
The tag base is mount board painted with emulsion and crackle glaze. The edges are distressed with distress ink and gold embossing powder.
The stamp is part of the Sheena Douglass stamp range painted over the top with Pebo paint.

Sorry a short post today, life it taking its toll on crafting and blogging at the moment.
Have a great week.
