Papertake Weekly - Hannah Lynn Digi - Deevonne

It's Tuesday afternoon and this time it's the
Papertake Weekly Challenge. This week we have an excellent sketch for you to follow and to entice you to partake we are sponsored by Simon Says Stamp

This is a one of my new digi stamps purchased recently.
This beautiful image is called Deevonne drawn by Hannah Lynn and sold by Crafts and Me.
This image is excellent to colour if you want to practise putting highlights in hair.
The paper is by Kaisercraft called Oasis and it's part of the Utopia collection. I stitched around the edge to add interest and texture.
To finish off I added a few gems, string and stickles glue and my freebie sentiment that I got in a magazine last year.

Thanks for stopping by.

EAC - Zorana Gipsy - Envelope Card

Happy Tuesday people
Today is our Everybody Art Challenge and this week we would like to see an "Envelope Card".
This is the first time I've made this type of card and I really enjoyed it. It's also really easy to do and you only need 1 sheet of 12x12 paper for the main envelope shape. I would like to say that I created the fold but I didn't, instead I came across on the Wild Orchid Challenge blog and it was demonstrated by Anne Kristie.

I have been seeing a lot of the digi images by Saturated Canary recently and just had to purchase some. This one is called Zorana Gipsy. Isn't the folds on her dress beautifully drawn. It definitely made it easier to colour.
The paper is Ella Blue - Tina Higgins by GCD Studios and blue Bazzill card.
Embellishments - Lace, ribbon, pearls coloured with Copics, Prima flowers highlighted with stickles glue and a few blue/white roses from Wild Orchid Crafts.
The sentiment was a freebie stamp from a craft magazine early last year.

Thanks for stopping by this week and keep crafting.

Papertake Weekly - Make a Wish

I am back again, this time with a card for this weeks Papertake Weekly challenge. The team would like to see something highlighted on your card.
We are sponsored by Bugaboo Digi Stamps. Check out some of the DT entries as they have used Bugaboo images in their designs, myself included.
I've gone a bit overboard with my highlights. not only have I highlighted the edge of the image, the lollipop and hearts, I've also highlighted the flowers with Stickles glue.

This little cutie is called Desiree nad once again I have coloured her using Copic colours that I don't normally opt for (peach and yellow).
The papers are from First Edition - Hideaway
Embellishments - Prima Flowers and Cherry Blossoms, Hat Pins and beads and Ribbon.
Sentiment - Freebie from a magazine giveaway some time ago.

Thanks for stopping by today.

EAC - Geeky Love - I Adore You

Happy Tuesday people.
It's time for another weekly challenge over at Everybody Art Challenge. This week we want to see swirls on your project.

For most crafters swirls are easy to add to a card but not for me. I spent an age going through all my papers trying to find swirls and finally settled on Basic Grey. The image is a digi from Make It Crafty called Geeky Love. I really like this image but unfortunately printed it just a little too big and that made it harder to come up with a card layout.......so I kept it simple.

The image was a dream to colour and gave me the opportunity to practice colouring folds. I've recently signed up to take Class 5 by Suzanne Dean at Color Me Creative and one of the lessons is to colour folds using Copics. Um....a little more work on my part I feel.

I am trying to get out of my comfort zone as I tend to always go for the Copic colours that I find easiest to use, pink isn't one of them. For some reason they always seem flourescent and difficult to blend. For this card I have used the RV range.
The boy's jumper was coloured using Ws and the trousers were Es and Ws.
I used a Spellbinders heart nestability for the background. To get this effect I lightly traced around the edge with a pencil and then coloured the heart using RV000, taking light strokes from the outside to the middle.

Embellishments were kept to a minimum because too many didn't look right. In the end I settled for Prima flowers, brads, gem swirls and a Tim Holtz sentiment.

I would like to enter the following challenges:
Corrosive Challenge - I Heart You
Wags n Whiskers - Valentine/Love

Thanks for stopping by today.

Papertake Weekly - Flying the Flag

Afternoon crafters.
I am back again, this time with a card made for this weeks
Papertake Weekly challenge.
We would like to see "Buttons, Bows and Bling" and this week we are sponsored by our very own
 The Ribbon Girl.

I have some new paper by Papermania called Portobello Road, its based on the British Union Jack and has been brought out in time to celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee and the London Olympics.
I have used my papers with a Magnolia image perfect for a celebration.

I've added bling in the form of glitter glue to the flowers, the image and to edge the paper.
The cute Union Jack buttons are also from Papermania.

That's about it for this card.

Happy Crafting

EAC - Computer Game Crazy

Well it's Tuesday and that means a new challenge over at Everybody Art Challenge. This week the theme is shabby. Perfect for another masculine card that I have made for my Nephew's birthday.

I love card making but I am finding spending so much time sat on my behind crafting is not good for my stomach.......it has nothing to do with the number of chocolates I have managed to stuff over Christmas! So that I can keep crafting I am spending two nights a week doing Zumba and Pilates. Monday's Zumba is already out the way only tonight to go and then I'm done for the week Yay!.

As for most crafters I am finding that I am accumulating quite a few cards so I have decided to have a go at selling them on Ebay. If you are interested I have a link on my sidebar.

Back to today's card.......,
Materials Used:
Paper: My Minds Eye - Hattie
I have ripped the papers into rough square shapes and then distress the edges with Tim Holtz Distree Inks (Walnut). I also added gold embossing powder to a few edges.

Image: A lovely digi image from Mo Manning over at Digital Pencil Too
The image is coloured with Copics and cut out so that it stands proud of the paper.

Embellishments
Two buttons and a piece of string.

The inside of the card has been decorated the same as the front but wthout the embellishments.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
http://mosdigitalchallenge.blogspot.com/ - Anything goes using a Mo Manning image
http://birthdaysundaes.blogspot.com/ - Birthday
http://pileitonchallenge.blogspot.com/ - Manly cards
