Every Art Challenge No. 70 - Cute Christening

This is my creation for this weeks challenge over at Everybody Art Challenge. My friend's baby is being Christened just after Christmas so I thought I would make something now to have a break from Christmas cards.

This is a digital image from Digitalpenciltoo. It's called Michael but I've turned it into a little girl!
I've used stickle glue on the wings and halo.

I used Ranger ink to change the colour of the flower, added a charm and hair pin with beads.
The paper is Papermania Regency A5 paper.

I hope you like the card and thanks for looking.

Everybody Art Chsllenge No. 69 - Red & Green

This weeks challenge over at Everybody Art Challenge is to use the colours red and green. I have used last weeks sketch over at Sketch Saturday and the image is from the Whiff of Joy Gnome range. It's a real cutie and a joy to colour.
Them embellishments are a Christmas tag, this is a stamp that I have stamped onto leather effect card and then coloured with distress inks and finished with a charm. Finally a star stamp that I have coloured with copics and then covered with green stickles.
The papers are from a paper pack that I have had for some time now and can't find the name of.

Thanks for taking the time to visit my blog especially at this busy time of year.

Everybody Art Challenge No. 68 - Stitching Real or Faux & Stamp Something - Thanks

This is my contribution to this weeks challenge over at Everybody Art Challenge, the theme being stitching real or faux. I am also going to enter it into the Stamp Something Challenge.
Boy was this a challenge for me. I have an aversion to sewing machines and a needle and thread. I think it stems from my school days when I took a whole term to make a top only to find one side was smaller than the other and hours of work had to be unpicked. I never did finish it!
To ensure there were no tears I pricked holes in the paper measuring the gaps with a ruler and then hand sewed using the holes as a guide. I can't sew straight even with a straight line but never mind I think it gives the card a rustic look! That's what I think and I'm sticking to it.

I have added stickles glue for the bling and a black gem for the ring.

I've added a couple of charm brads although not easy to see. The first is a cosmetic bag, the second a made with love envelope.
The flower is a midnight blue rose bought from ebay (Mulberry Crafts UK), I think there were 50 in the bag for about £2.50. Below that is a blue prima flower - Painterly Petals Morning Silk To finish it off I coloured a cherry blossom flower and added a couple of rose buds. and finally a circle of navy paper roughly cut.

Other items used:
Paper/Card - Bazzill - Great Lakes,
Paper Salon - Enamored Heart Filagree
K&Co - Amy Butler Lotus Faded China
ANW Crestwood - Ivory Floral on white matt

Embellishments - Black gems, button, black ribbon, white lace, blue sequins

Image - Stamps Happen - Paris Socialite

Medium - Ranger Distress Ink - faded Jeans
Copics - B02, B12, B93, C5, C7

Thanks for looking.

Just Magnolia - Masking & Mojo Monday No.114

I have created the card for two challenges this week. The first for Just Magnolia and the challenge is masking and the second is a sketch challenge over at Mojo Monday. For the masking I have added the Sleigh and Christmas words to the Tilda image. I have used red bazzill card and My Mind's Eye Wonderful Winter glittered paper. I decided to distress the papers by adding splashes of silver & Pearl embossing powder around the edges after fraying with scissors. I've used stickles glue on the image although not easy to see and on the black ribbon. The only other embellishments are pearl gems placed in the centre of some of the swirls. I have used copics to colour Tilda and they are: E000, E00, E21, E31, E33, E35, E57, B60, B93, YG63, G99, RV000, R11, R27, R46, R59, W7

This is a quick post tonight as I am off out to the Christmas Street Fair that we have in our town.

Thanks for looking.

I have coloured Tilda using a combination of Ranger distress ink (Broken China, Faded Jeans) and copics. I have used stickles glue to give a little sparkle.

I hope you like the card.

Stay Warm this Winter - Sketch Saturday & Creative Inspirations

The weather is still really bad here in Oxforshire so lucky for me I have managed to fit in a day of crafting. I have made this card to enter into the Sketch Saturday Challenge. It's a great sketch and everything came together really quickly. I am also going to enter it into the Creative Inspirations challenge which is sparkle.
I have used My Minds Eye Signature Christmas papers. I just love the colours in this book and some of the papers can be used for everyday cards. The image was part of a freebie set of stamps in a magazine. The image is quite small so to fit in with the sketch I distressed some of the backing paper and coloured the edges. I have used glitter glue for the snow although it may not be apparent at first glance.

I created the sentiment in Word and cut it out using Nestabilities Label 1.
The holly is a stamp and I have coloured it using Copics. Finally the trees are die cuts that I had in the drawer and I have used stickles for the snow.
I can't remember the copics I used because stupidly I put them away in an attempt to tidy my work area only to realise I hadn't made a note of them.

Thanks for taking the time to view my artwork. Please leave a comment if you have time as I love to read your comments, good or bad!

Double Dutch - Tilda with Mistletoe

This card has been created using one of my new images purchased at the NEC. The Magnolia image is so cute and a dream to colour. I have made this card using the sketch over at the Double Dutch Challenge blog. It's an excellent sketch and I really enjoyed using it. The papers are My Minds Eye Wonderful Winter Glittered Paper and they are beautiful. It breaks my heart to use them! I have put a little faux stitching on the card. I had intended on using the sewing machine but absolutely hate sewing and the machine knows it so it kept clogging up. It was either cry with frustration or draw the stitching, suffice to say the sewing machine has gone back in its box and put out of sight.
I have used stickles glitter glue on the image but it difficult to see in the picture. I apologise for the quality. It is raining so hard here today and is so dark that even with the lights on I couldn't get the sparkle to show up very well.

To make the card:
Card/Paper
6x6" white card base, My Minds Eye Wonderful Winter Glittered paper, Bazzill card (it doesn't have a name on it but the colour is a rust colour), Image stamped on Bristol Board 250gsm (115lb)

Medium
Ranger Distress Inks - Tattered Rose & Broken China
Copics - B00, B02, B12, C1, E000, E00, E21, E31, E35, E57, RV000, R20, R11, G05, G07, G14, W1, W3
White Pen
Stickles Glue - Pink & Pearlescent

Thanks for taking the time to look at my blog.

Everybody Art Challenge #66 - Tilda with Pig

This week over at the Everybody Art Challenge blog is a sketch for you to follow. Making this card was a challenge for me because for some reason I struggle making cards with circles and curves, madness I know. There is another office birthday coming up so no doubt this creation will be going to a good home.
The stamp I have used is new and I picked it up from the Magnolia stand at the NEC last Saturday. It was tough getting to the stand but I persuvired and it payed off. In fact the place was heaving and I can't say I enjoyed it. I usually take a day off work to go on the Thursday or Friday and although busy at least you can get to look at things. I don't think I will make the same mistake next March.

To make the card I have used:
Card/Paper - 6x6" card, Orange Bazzill, Dapper Design 4 (doublesided) by All My Memories.

Everybody-Art-Challenge No. 65 - Distressing

I am so shocked and happy, I have made it onto the Everybody-Art-Challenge Design Team.
As this is the first design team I have ever been part of and know nothing about Yahoo Groups, this weekend has been a steep learning curve. To add to my confusion the group is in German and although I studied the language for A-Level, that was 20 years ago and have forgotten everything. Thank goodness for google translate!

This weeks challenge is to make something using the distressing technique. I have chosen to make a card using the colour scheme black, red, silver and white and have used last weeks sketch #64.

To make the card I have used:
Card/Paper - 6x6" white card, Bristol Board Extra Smooth 250gsm, Basic Grey Scarletts Letter (Black),
Pine Cone Press textured card stock PP9172 (Red), Oriental patterned paper, Stardream paper (Silver)

Image - Manga 2 - Sugar Nellie (Funky Kits), Sentiment - clear stamp free in a magazine

Medium - Copic Ciao - E00, E21, E20, R32, R37, R59, C1, W1, W3,
Ranger Distress Inks - Mahogany (background), Black (edges)
Gelly Roll white pen (to distress the flower)

Dies/ Embossing - Nestabilities Label Four, Cuttlebug Circles Embossing folder (black background and flower)

Tools - Scissors to fray the edges of the paper, Emery board to remove some of the colour off of the embossed design

Embellishment - Lace, Graphite satin ribbon, red grosgrain ribbon, red gems, red flower from stash

Check out the inspirational designs from the other design team members. A direct link to each of their blogs can be found on my side bar.

I hope you like my card. Please leave a message if you have time as its always nice to receive feedback and visit all your blogs.

Tri Fold Card & Two Challenges

I have made this card for my Niece. Her birthday is not until December so I am well ahead of myself for a change. It's called a tri fold card and although looks complicated is very easy. It must be it has only taken me a couple of evenings to finish.
To make the shape:
1. Cut a piece of 12x12 card across and 5.5" down

2. Score at 2", 4", 8" and 10"
3. Cut two lines horizontally 1.5" down from the longest outside edge (top and bottom)
4. Now bend the score lines using mountain and valley folds (1st fold up, 2nd down, 3rd up and 4th down)

5. Decorate however you please.
More in depth instructions with pictures are available on the splitcoaststampers website.

I am going to enter this design for two challenge blogs. The first being Mos Digital Challenge No. 4. The spec was to create a card using any folds other than a standard A2 fold and to use one of Mo's digital stamps. This isn't difficult as all of Mo's designs are excellent and a
dream to colour.
The 2nd challenge is week 7 photo inspiration over at the Basic Grey Challenge Blog. See the picture below
.

Items used: Paper/Card - Bazzill silver card, Basic Grey Bittersweet paper Image - Mo's digital pencil too, "End of Summer" & Crafty Individuals - Butterflies Medium - Copics G94, YG11, YG03, E000, E21, E35, E37, E50, E51, B00, BG10, C1, C3, C5, R11, R20, R27,

Ranger Distress Ink - Aged Mahogany Embellishments - Gingham ribbon, Prima flower and paper flower both coloured with copics, Charm and wire flowers from my stash.

Thanks for looking at my design.

Autumnal Wedding - Hanglar & Stanglar - Multiple Challenges

I have created this card for a wedding coming up in November. The brief was to create an elegant card large enough for many people to sign, using a cute stamped
image.
I wasn't given a colour scheme so decided to go with autumnal which fits in to this weeks challenge over at Everybody-art-challenge.blogspot.com. I knew the image would look great coloured in shades of brown and cream and layered with gold mirri and copper stardream paper.
I love to use punches on my cards. The one used is from Craft Habitat. It's perfect for adding elegance to a design and has made the flower look very delicate. It also enables me to join in with this weeks challenge over at Daring Card Makers - Getting punchy with it.
This week over at Simon Says Stamps Challenge blogspot the theme is all that spar
kles. To get some sparkle into my design, besides using gold mirri card, I have used a metallic edge satin ribbon and edged a tag with gold foil. The image has a few dots of stickles on it. Finally to bring it all together I have used last weeks sketch over at Friday Sketchers Challenge Blog.

Items used:
Card/ Paper -
Stardream Bronze card 21 x 21cm, Stardream Copper paper, Stardream Quartz paper, Gold Mirri,
Hot off the Press - 8x8" Wedding Paper Pizazz

Rubber Stamp -
Hanglar & Stanglar Bridpar2

Medium -
Copics - E000, E00, E21, E33, E35, E43, E47, E49, E50, E51, E53, E57, 0
Distress Inks - Ranger Brushed Corduroy
Gold Foil

Embellishments -
Rose buds

Shabby Princess

This weeks card is another birthday card for a work colleague who loves green and handbags. I have used last weeks sketch over at Midnight Madness and had intended of entering it into the challenge but missed it because I didn't have time to do any blogging. Everything about this card was a challenge for me. I couldn't get the sketch to look how I wanted it to even though it should have been easy. I coloured the image in easy enough using my copics only to find I didn't have any green patterned papers that would match. Luckily, after trawling the internet I came across some free papers on the Shabby Princess website that were perfect. Check out the website here as there are lots of freebie papers besides paper kits to buy. You just download and print. I cut out square frames to cover over each pattern and went dotty using stickles green. It's finished off with a flower, ribbon and a handbag charm.

View of the inside

Items Used:
Papers/Card - Bazzill lime green & black, Shabby Prin
cess kiwi kit

Paris Socialite - Diamonds are a Girls Best Friend - MMSC#20, Stamp Something, Copic Colour #32 & Basic Grey #4

I can't believe it. I won last weeks challenge over at Dutch Dare and will be the proud owner of a stamp named "Happy Maya" , donated by La La Land Crafts. I've never won anything, so it made my day last Thursday when I clicked on the blog to see what the next challenge would be for the coming fortnight and there was my name. Thank you to the design team for choosing my card.

Last Saturday I took some time out to enter into the Stampers United blog hop and I'm glad I did. some blogs I am a regular visitor to but there were others that until Saturday I had never come across. The level of peoples art work never ceases to amaze me or the amount of time the team must have taken ensuring the blog hop would happen.

Back to this weeks creation, I have made a card using a fab stamp that my other half surprised me with after he took a trip to hobbycraft. It's called "Paris Socialite" by Stamps Happen. How lucky am I? He never comments on the 100s of pounds I spend on crafting goodies and gadgets, usually accompanies me to craft shows and even spends his money buying must have items. It probably has something to do with all the money he spends on his own hobbies!

Anyway, whilst blog hopping I came across a new challenge blog "Priscillastyles: Midnight Madness" and it's their sketch I have used to create my design. I liked the sketch so much I will use it again and I am also going to enter the card into the Stamp Something Challenge for this week which is to use your favourite sketch. For the first time ever I am going to enter this weeks challenge over at the Copic Colour Challenge blog. The colour combination is V06, B23 & BG23. The main colour used on my card is V06, not a colour I would normally choose so quite a challenge. I used BG23 on the ribbon. I have also entered this into the Basic Grey Challenge this week as I have included Embossing on my card. I am pleased with the effect and will definitely use the stamp again with a completely different colour scheme.

To make the card I have used:
Card/Paper - Linen card stock 15x16cm, Purple Bazzil, Basic Grey Euphoria
Stamp - Paris Socialite, Stamps Happen
Medium - Copics, V06, V04, V000, 100, E00, E21, E51, R00, C3, C5
Distress Ink, Dusty Concord for the background and the edge of the BG papers
Cosmic Shimmer Mica Pewter Grey, Stickles for the bling, White Gelly Roll Pen and Silver Pen
Embossing/Dies - Cuttle Bug Textile folder, Spellbinder Oval Nestabilities
Embellishments - Silver Buckle coloured with Stickles, Square Gems, White ribbon coloured and doodled on.

I think that's it. Thanks for taking the time to look at my blog, it is appreciated.
Jenny
