Papertake Weekly - A Christmas Cracker......

A good afternoon to you.
It's time for the Papertake Weekly challenge and this week we would like to see
"A Christmas Cracker".
This could be literally a cracker or how I have interpreted it as a cracker of a card!
To encourage you to join in this week we are sponsored by Wendy's Digital Delights

I have used a beautiful image by Lili of the Valley called "Carol Singers" and teamed it up with my new papers from My Minds Eye - Lost & Found Christmas.
I think the card looks like a present with the bow at the top.

Here's a close up (click on the image for a bigger picture)

As always I have used Copics to colour the image.

Reds - R17, R29, R59
Browns - E50, E31, E57

Papertake Weekly - When is a Card not a Card?

Afternoon crafters.
The answer to my question is.......when its a bag!
This week over at Papertake Weekly we are sponsored by The Ribbon Girl  and to be in with a chance of winning their stunning prize we want to see
cards with a difference.
Be sure to check out my fellow talented DT colleagues for lots of inspiration.
This is the first time I have made a paper bag card and had fun and games trying to make the paper bag. I wasn't lucky enough to have a ready made bag in my ever growing stash.

Front view of the card (click on the image to see a bigger picture)

The weather has been so grey in Oxfordshire it is causing me problems trying to get a decent photo.

I've used grey and pink bazzill card. The paper is MME Glitter Christmas. I've inked the paper and then stitched around the edge and finished it off with Liquid Pearl.
The image is from Kanban, coloured with Copics and finished with Stickles glue.
The poinsettia flowers and snowflakes are Marianne's dies. The holly leaves are taken from the Cuttlebug embossing folder, cut out and coloured with Copics.
The small sentiment that looks like a holly berry is from Lili of the Valley.
Finally I've added ribbon, twine, a brad and a sentiment from Nitwits.

I hope you like my card and hopefully you can join us this week.
Thanks for stopping by.

EAC No. 167 - Small Gift

Good morning.
This week over at Everybody Art Challenge our theme is to make a "Small Gift".
I have spruced up a plain candle and am really pleased with it because it came together very quickly and the present cost less than £3 to make.

Materials used:
Brown Kraft paper
Martha Stewart Doily punch
Ribbon
Mariannes Poinsetta die
Holly leaves cut from the Cuttlebug Holly embossing folder and coloured with Copics
Small sentiment from LOTV- it reads Christmas Day 25th Dec, coloured around the edge with Distress Ink.
That's it. How easy it that.

Thanks for stopping by today and hopefully you will have time to enter our challenge.

Papertake Weekly - First Nativity

Hello again people. I'm back again for my second posting today.
This time its for Papertake Weekly. Yay.
I thought I wouldn't get this card finished in time because you liked our "Anything Goes - optional extra Bling" theme so much over 650 of you entered the challenge which meant the design team and I have been busy admiring your beautiful artwork and leaving comments for each entrant.
This week we are sponsored by Dies to Die For. To be in with a chance to win a prize we would like to see your creations for "First Christmas".

Here is my offering of a 1st Navity. Click on the card for a bigger picture.
I received a commission to make a Christmas card so decided to make an easel card using the cute nativity image from Lili of the Valley.
I'm really pleased with how the card turned out and my other half has informed me that he thinks this is my best coloured image so far. I only hope I don't disappoint in the future.

Here is a close up of the image.
Click on the picture to get a closer view.

Materials used:
Bazzill card
Paper - Basic Grey -  Jovial
Dies - Nestability Circle & Label
Embellishments - Poinsetta die (Marianne's Creatables), Ribbon. The tag was home made and stamped with a sentiment from Rachel Ann Miller. The second sentiment was created on the computer.
Copics - mainly Es, G82, Putty and one other (sorry can't remember)

I hope you like the card and hopefully so will the recipient.
Thanks for stopping by today.

EAC No.167 - In Time for Christmas

Good morning to all.
It's Tuesday and time for this weeks challenge over at Everybody Art Challenge. This week the team would like to see your ideas on the theme "Advent".
Advent for me is the time leading up to Christmas when I am frantically trying to get my Christmas cards made and posted and here is the card.
This card was made at the recent Copic Retreat I attended in Oxfordshire. The colouring of the image and the sticking of the paper is all my own work but the layout and papers are thanks to Dawny P.
I've added stickles glue to edge the papers and highlight the snow.
The image has been coloured using Copics C0,C1 & C3.

That's about it for this card. I'll be back later with my second card for the day.
Thanks for stopping by.
