Thinking of You - Truly Scrumptious Challenge
I have created this Thinking of You card instead of a With Sympathy as it has to be posted to Australia and by the time it gets there the funeral will have taken place.
I used the sketch created by Sharon over at Truly Scrumptious which had an added twist of using the colour scheme black, white and one other colour. This was a real challenge for me as I never make cards using black and white. So, I finished it late last night and was too tired to upload to my blog and link it to the challenge and now I have just realised I'm too late. It had to be uploaded before 5pm this evening. It's a shame because the design team over at Scrumptious always take the time to look at your design and leave a comment, which is very much appreciated. Oh well, I will have to get my skates on for the next challenge out tomorrow!

The Next Level Challenge - A Birthday Card For The Man In My Life
Here is a card for the man that I love. It was his birthday last week and I really wanted to make him a card. I was hard pushed as I had and still have two wedding invitation orders to fulfill, a with sympathy card to complete and the scrapbook for my sister besides working full time and spending evenings playing with ducks!. This was very rushed for me and I'm not completely happy with it. I couldn't find the 3rd plane decoupage piece in my messy craft room so had to go with what I had. I have since found it and will add it to the card before it is put away. I have used an excellent sketch created by the team over at The Next Level challenge blog. The twist was to use decoupage in you image. Check out their blog by clicking on the banner on my side bar. It's an excellent blog packed full of hints/tips, tutorials and prizes and the design team make some fantastic cards.
Items used.
Paper/ Card - Blue Bazzill Card, Basic Grey Porcelain Paper (White)
Planes taken from the Men in Mind CD by Lex Crafts
Flag, Gas Mask & Poster taken from one of our many books on WWII!
Ribbon & Brads
I hope you like the card and thanks for looking.

I was hoping to combine two challenges this week, Friday Sketchers and Copic Colour Challenge but I couldn't get my card finished in time. Luckily I'm not too late for Friday Sketchers. The sketch, created by Claudia was really nice to use and I'm pleased with the outcome.

Papers - Basic Grey Porcelain paper & Scarlets Letter & Papermania Gold paper
Ribbon - Gold Satin & Gold Grosgrain
Flowers - Cream Silk Roses coated in Cosmic Shimmer Burnt Marigold & Burnt Red
I have used scissors to distress the paper edges and coloured with orange and brown distress inks.
Thanks for looking.
