EAC No. 92 - Jack & The Beanstalk

Today over at Everybody Art Challenge the theme is Fairytale. I had intended on doing Hansel & Gretal making a 3d reveal card showing lots of candy but I couldn't get it to look right so I had to put it to one side and start again. My card is Jack and the Beanstalk and I have used a digital stamp from Digitalpenciltoo created by Mo Manning. I have kept my card very simple with as little embellishment as possible. The backing paper was a freebie out of a magazine some time ago, and the 2nd layer is a piece of Kanban card. The image was coloured with copics and everything finished off with a satin bow and sentiment from Rachel Anne Miller. The picture doesn't look so great because it was quite late in the evening and even in a light tent I cannot get my cards to look as they do in my hands. Have a great week and thanks for looking. EAC No.91 - Bentley Bear

Today over at Everybody Art Challenge we have a nice and easy sketch for you to follow.

For my card I have used a stamp by the name of Bentley Bear created by Adam Pescott and given away free with this months Cardmaking & Papercraft magazine. There are another 6 stamps that go with this one but I haven't had chance to use them yet.

Items used:

6x6" Card, Orange mirri paper, Basic Grey Kioshi paper.

Stamps - Bently Bear & a flower stamp (sorry can't remember the make)

To make the background for the bear I have cut out a cloud shape and using blue distress ink, inked around the shape a few times. I coloured the bear using copics.

EAC No. 90 - Piggy Treats

This week over at Everybody Art Challenge the theme is to make a Gift Box and one lucky entrant will win digital stamps designed by our new sponsor, Melissa at Meljens Designs.

For my creation I have used Piggy Bath. I had two ideas for this image, either to create a box for some aftershave and have the cute pig 3d on the top with flowers all around him or create a gift involving chocolate truffles. The later won out because its Fathers Day every soon and my Dad would appreciate chocolates more (if they last that long).

I have made an open gift box using the instructions very kindly provided by Christine in the Magnolia Fairytale magazine. I have kept it very simple because the pig is so cute I wanted him in full view.

I have used a Martha Stewart punch around the top of the card, some left over paper, distressed with ink and ribbon. The pig has been stuck on using 3d foam pads.

Quackers for You - EAC No. 89

Good morning, its Tuesday again and time for another card for the weekly challenge over at Everybody Art Challenge. This week the theme is pastel colours. Quite a hard one for me as I prefer vibrant colours. I have made an easel card and used the excellent sketch over at Sketch Saturday.

The papers and image are from the Nitwits Collection - Ducks. I love this site they do some fantastic kits which can be printed at a touch of a button. Check out their site for a variety of papers, themes and paper embellishments.

I have decoupaged a few flowers and added a few gems, pearls, ribbon and stickles glue on a few of the edges.

I am also entering my card in this weeks Creative Inspirations Challenge - Easel card.

Hanglar & Stanglar Wedding Card

This week over at Simon Says Challenge the theme is to make a wedding card for Domi one the the DT members. Luckily for me I am a member of Domi's challenge blog Everybody Art Challenge and I had already made a card to help celebrate the special occasion. I had planned to show it on my blog after 15th May to give Domi and Uli time to receive it but the challenge doesn't go on that long. I'm sure Domi and Uli will not mind me uploading it early. :) I know most wedding cards are made using lovely pastel colours but for some reason pastel doesn't spring to mind when I think of Domi, so I have gone with what I like best which is vibrant. I have chosen red, silver, dark grey and a splash of white. I am also entering my card in the My Time to Craft challenge blog, the theme is Ruby, Ruby, Ruby, Ruby To make the card: I have used red bazill card for the base and stitched onto it a silver diamond filigree on white paper. It is a product from ANW Crestwood Paper company. For the strip going down the card, I layered silver pearlescent paper, red bazill card, white linen card edged with Martha Stewart's Doilly punch, white organza ribbon with a silver edge and red printed organza ribbon on top (craftfairy.co.uk) phew that was a lot of layers. The image is from Hanglar & Stanglar stamped on to Bristol Board Extra Smooth 250gsm and layered with red bazill and silver pearlescent paper. To colour the image I have used copics. C1, C3, C5, C7 (greys), R27 & R59 (trouser stripe) for the groom's clothing. For the bride I used R27 & R59 for the sash and tiara and E50, E51 & E43 for the dress. The skin was E000, E00, E11, R20. To add a little interest to the background of the image I added different sized dots using C1. To bring it all together I made what is supposed to be a trailing bouquet using red/orange roses, a couple rose buds, leaves, a silver bow, heart shaped buttons (grey & black), a tag printed off the computer and swirls of thinly cut bazill card. Oh and a string of silver balls (not sure what is is or where I got it from). The two outside corners looked a little bare so I added a couple of graphite coloured pearls. I was really pleased with the finished design and wanted to keep it but had to let it go. It's now on its way to Europe I only hope it travels well!
