Papertake Weekly - Queen of Style

Afternoon crafters.
It's time for another challenge over at Papertake Weekly.
This week we have an excellent sketch for you to follow and to help us we are sponsored by Simon Says Stamps.

I've made this card using one of my favourite stamps which I have had for an age. It's the perfect image for a female when cute isn't quite right. The company is Stamps Happen Inc and it's called Paris Socialite. If you would like to buy this stamp, pop over to Simon Says Stamp.

I really like the papers used but unfortunately I can't tell you anything about them as I received then as a Christmas present and there isn't any company name on them.

I used Copics (B000, B00, B02, RV10, E000, E00,E02, C7, C5) to colour the image and Tim Holtz Distress Inks around the edge. To add sparkle to her clothing I've used liquid pearl and stickles glue.
To embellish the card I have stitched around the edge of the papers and added a couple of clear gems.

That's about it today, but be sure to check out my fellow DT mates for lots more inspiration.

EAC - Monochrome - A Busy Lawrence Bear

Happy Tuesday people.
Today over at Everybody Art Challenge the theme is "Monochrome".

I've made a simple masculine easel card using brown and cream as my colour scheme.
Instead of using my trusted Copics, this week I thought I would try a different technique and coloured the image using Tim Holtz Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink.
The image is a cutie from Lawrence Stamps, can you believe I purchased this last October and have only just stamped it up. I seem to be accumulating quite a few stamps that haven't seen the light of day as yet.
I've used Tim Holtz Distress card and have sanded around the edges to reveal the lighter colour underneath. The embossed Happy Birthday card I created by using the Papermania embossing board. I bought this at the Farnborough show last weekend and it was a bargain for £2.99.
I have created the sentiment using the same embossing board.
To finish off I used some ribbon and a brad.

I'll be back later with this weeks card for Papertake Weekly.
thanks for stopping by.

Papertake Weekly - Lets Get Krafty

Afternoon Crafters.
It's time for the new Papertake Weekly challenge and this week we would like to see kraft card on your project.
Once again we are sponsored by The Ribbon Girl

I have used one of my favourite Magnolia stamps and coloured her with Prisma Pencils. This little cutie can be used for so many occasions.
The papers are co-ordinated and I've had them for about 3 years. Madness I know but I just couldn't bring myself to use them. Unfortunately the photo isn't very good so the papers are a little washed out. At the moment I only seem to be able able to take photos in the evenings or early morning which is never ideal. Roll on the Summer.
The sentiment is a Tim Holtz stamp about friends being chocolate chips.
The other embellishments used are lace, ribbon, brads, Prima flowers, hat pin and a couple of very old pearls.

I hope you can join us this week.

EAC - Lets Decorate with Fairy Lights

I have used the cute digi called Decorating Our Mushrooms.

The sketch is very simple so I haven't had to use too many embellishments, only two types of ribbon, a few coloured gems and a couple of brads.

The image is coloured with Copics - Blues B000,B00,B02 - Greens YG03, YG11 Y11, G82 - Grays - W1,W2.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Papertake Weekly - A Colour Challenge using Tilda

Afternoon crafters.
I'm back again with my card for the challenge over at
This week our theme is "Black, Red and White" and we are sponsored by Whiff of Joy.
Be sure to check out my fellow DT's card for lots of inspiration.

I have been practising another technique tutorial over at Color Me Creative which is part of the Magnolia 3 class. It's how to create a tiled floor. This is my first attempt and is not too bad.
I've kept the card simple so that the picture is the main focus.
The white paper has been embossed using a Cuttlebug herringbone design, the black paper has a linen effect.
I've added stitching using a white pen.
The sentiment is a stamp by Rachel Miller. I cut out a circle, coloured it with Copics and edged with white embossing powder, to finish off I used a punch to add some small holes.
Finally I added 3 types of ribbon, a few flowers and a couple of brads and hey presto.

Thanks for stopping by today.

EAC - Christmas Countdown Card

Good morning crafting buddies.
It's Tuesday and time for another challenge from
Everybody Art Challenge.
This week we would like to see a project using a calendar.
Be sure to check out my fellow DT for lots of inspiration.
My design is an Advent Calendar, known as a Christmas Countdown card. My first Christmas card for the year.

So what have I done to put this card together:
To make the countdown I followed the instructions created by Tanja over at Stempeleinmaleins.

The image is Sweet Christmas Tilda coloured with Copics.
I recently signed up for a class over at Color Me Creative - class 5 and one of the techniques is to use a flicking motion to blend instead of my tried and trusted circles. This method uses less ink and I've got to say it didn't come easy but I'm pleased with the result.

I've used Basic Grey Jovial papers and also made my own with a Magnolia snowflake image.
Distress ink was used to edge the paper along with white embossing powder.
I found the ribbon in my ever growing stash and figured a large bow would be the perfect finishing embellishment.
That's about it for now. I hope you can join us this week.
