Gingerbread Heaven

Happy Tuesday everyone. Once again it's another challenge over at the Everybody Art Challenge Blog. This week the theme is "Gingerbread Time".
I feel like I have cheated this week because this was the quickest card to make with no stamping or colouring, just cutting and sticking. My creation is an A5 stepper card.
To make this card I red Bazzill card to stiffen the card and act as a colourful edge. The papers are from Cringle and Company and are already the shapes needed to complete the card. All I had to do was cut and stick. Although you cannot see it I have used liquid pearl for the icing on the gingerbread and some Stickles glue on the bow tie. Finally I used some ribbon to make two bows. Thanks for looking and join in with the challenge if you have time. Jenny

Purrrfect Day

Happy Tuesday everyone.
This week over at Everybody Art Challenge the theme is to make a card or project
USING SHAPES.
For my card I have used a circle, rectangle, square, triangle, snowflakes and hearts.

I started with a square card and folded it back on itself to create a rectangle within a square. This was covered in Basic Grey paper from the Wassail pad.

Next I made a cat using three varying sizes of circle nestibilities and two upside down hearts for the ears. I have inked the edges of the cat to give a little dimension. (this isn't my creation I found it in a back issue of a papercraft magazine and the designer is Michelle Powell)

The window was made using the rectangle shapes and to add a little interest white puff paint was applied.

A strip of Basic Grey paper (triangle design) was applied to Bazzill card edged with a Martha Stewart punch. Circles were cut for the sentiment area and the sentiment came from the latest Magnolia stamp kit.

To finish I added a few snowflake embellishments.

Thanks for looking and enjoy the week.

Penny Black Christmas Reindeer

Happy Tuesday People.
This week over at Everybody Art Challenge blog the theme is "Monochrome Brown". I have made my creation after getting inspiration from the Butterfly-Kisses stand, who were demonstrating at the NEC a few weeks ago. Their card was absolutely beautiful using the colours navy blue and cream. If you log onto to their website they have a project for you to follow.
To make my card I have used:
Two shades of brown bazzill card
Cream card that I have stamped diamonds on using Distress Ink - Brushed Corduroy.
The diamond stamp was made using foam and deckle edge scissors.
The tag was coloured using Distress Inks - Brushed Corduroy & Walnut before being stamped with a Penny Black Reindeer Stamp.
The bow is made using ribbon mesh, another purchase at the NEC after watching a very talented lady demonstrate how to use it for all sorts of projects, finished with a brad in the centre.
Finally I have used a Martha Stewart punch for a decorative edge.
I hope you like my card and I look forward to viewing your projects. Thanks for stopping by.

Cute Christmas Snowman

Welcome to a new week and a new challenge over at Everybody Art Challenge. This week we have a simple sketch for you to follow created by fellow DT member Alex.
I really enjoyed using it as my card came together so quickly. I managed to make a second card for another challenge and still had time to visit the NEC for some inspiration and retail therapy and High Wycombe to indulge in my other half's hobby.
This is my first Christmas card so far this year so I better get moving if I want to have enough to give out to family and friends.
I have used a new image that I purchased recently, made by Kanban. I've coloured it with Copics and added shadow with distress inks.
Silver textured card was used as a background, layered with gorgeous paper (sorry no name on the paper).
The snowflake is a die from Marianne Creatables, coated in fluffy snow and heated (also the snow on the image) and sprinkled with glitter. I finished the card with ribbon a stamped sentiment and punched stars.
I am entering this card in the challenge for Charisma Cardz Challenge - with love at christmas
and Dutch Dare - clean and simple
Thanks for looking and join in if you can.

Toy Soldier Easel Card - EAC No. 115

Well it's Tuesday again and this week over at Everybody Art Challenge we are asking you to create a card or project using the theme "Nontraditional Christmas". Now I don't know about you but I found it quite hard to think of something that wasn't traditional. Winter scenes, snow, presents, Santa etc etc just kept popping into my head. I finally decided on a toy soldier who is supposed to be stood on top of a drum base and as an extra something I have added a drawer that contains chocolate Santa's. I haven't bothered with a sentiment as I figured I could turn it into a little boys birthday card. Items used Bazzill card stock to make the drum base My Minds Eye - Papers Gold mirri card Ribbon to tidy up the box edge! Gold Stickles glue, on the image and again to tidy up the box edge. Image - Found on the web and coloured with Copics. Unfortunately, by the time I finished my project the sun had disappeared and I couldn't get a good picture. I can see this is going to be a problem for quite a few months to come unless I can speed up and complete projects before the weekend. Thanks for looking and I hope you can join in this week. Jenny
